Congratulations to all our students receiving their GCSE results today!

We are incredibly proud of this year's achievements, with strong results across both academic and technical subjects:

✅ 80% achieved their Engineering Manufacturing or Creative Media Production qualifications
✅ Over 60% gained Grade 5+ in Media Studies, Art and Product Design
✅ 70% achieved Grade 4+ in English
✅ Nearly 65% achieved Grade 4+ in Maths
✅ More than 95% of Triple Science students achieved Grade 4+, with 80% gaining Grade 5 or above

We wish all our students the very best in their next steps, whether that's continuing into our sixth form, starting an apprenticeship, or moving on to other Post 16 opportunities!

Tomorrow (Thursday 20th August) is GCSE Results Day!

GCSE results can be collected from UTC from 9:00am.

We would like to wish all of our students the very best of luck as they receive their results.

For students who are enrolling with us for Year 12 please complete the enrolment form on Applicaa as soon as you receive your results. We will then be in touch with you about next steps.

What a fantastic Results Day we've had today!

We'd like to congratulate all of our students once again on their hard work and achievements. It has been wonderful to see so many of you celebrating today and to witness so many happy faces.

Our Year 13 students are progressing to some fantastic destinations, including apprenticeships with Bentley, Yorkshire Water, Amazon, Red Bull and Mercedes, to name just a few. Many are also embarking on exciting university journeys at institutions including the University of Sheffield, the University of Manchester, Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Salford.

We are incredibly proud of all of our Year 13 graduates and wish them every success in their next chapter!

Congratulations to our students, who are celebrating a fantastic set of A Level and technical qualification results today.

This year's cohort has achieved excellent outcomes across both engineering and creative and digital media, with students now progressing to top universities and sought-after apprenticeships.

Highlights include:

✅ 100% pass rate in Engineering technical qualifications
✅ 100% pass rate in Creative and Digital Media technical qualifications
✅ 85% of Creative and Digital Media students achieved Distinction* to Merit grades
✅ 70% of Engineering students achieved Distinction* to Merit grades
✅ A Level pass rate of 96.4%

Level 3 Technical and A Level results can be collected from UTC from 9am (we will be closing at 3pm).

Goodbye to two of our incredible team!

On the last day of term last week, we began to say a heartfelt farewell to two incredible colleagues as they embarked on their well-earned retirements.

Julie has been the welcoming heart of the UTC for many years. As PA to the Principal, she has supported staff, students, parents and governors with professionalism, kindness and unwavering dedication. Quite simply, the UTC would not have been the same without her. She has made a lasting impact far beyond her role, and words simply cannot express our gratitude.

Adrian, our Curriculum Director for Engineering, has dedicated his career to supporting our students in becoming the next generation of engineers. Through his leadership, he has helped to solidify the department's position as a nationally recognised centre of excellence. He has directly impacted the futures of countless young people, sharing not only his expertise but also his passion for engineering and commitment to student success.

Although their roles have been very different, they share the same qualities: dedication, integrity and a genuine commitment to making a difference. Together, they have left a lasting legacy that will continue to benefit the UTC for many years to come.

On behalf of everyone at UTC Sheffield City Centre, thank you both for everything you have given. We wish you every happiness, good health and many exciting adventures in your retirement. You will both be greatly missed!

Year 9 have been helping the BBC Bitesize team!

During the final week of term before the summer break, our Year 9 students took part in a series of workshops delivered by the BBC.

The aim of the day was to gather feedback from our Creative & Digital Media students on the BBC Bitesize mini-series Solve the Story ahead of a potential second series. Students also shared their thoughts on the workshop itself before it is delivered to other schools across the county.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, engagement and exemplary conduct shown by our students throughout the day. Their insights and contributions will help shape future BBC Bitesize content for young people nationwide.

That's a wrap on another fantastic academic year!

As we reach the end of the school year, we'd like to thank all of our students, staff and partners for making it such a memorable one.

From classroom successes and enrichment activities to competitions, trips, performances and special events, there has been so much to celebrate throughout the year.

We are incredibly proud of all our students, particularly those who have worked so hard during their examinations this summer. Their dedication, resilience and commitment have been inspiring to see.

It has also been wonderful to welcome our new Year 9 students during July as they begin their journey with us. We can't wait to see them join our school community in September.

From hands-on engineering challenges and prototype construction to filmmaking and digital game design, students demonstrated impressive creativity, teamwork and professionalism throughout.

Year 10 students shine on work experience! 🎥 🎨 🔨 👷🏼‍♂️

Our Year 10 students have been making the most of their work experience placements over the past two weeks.

Students have been at Sheffield Hallam University, taking part in exciting activities linked to their specialisms.

Our Creative Digital Media students have been creating short films and designing their own digital games, while our Engineering students have been putting their skills to the test by designing and constructing apartment prototypes and taking part in bridge-building challenges with Mott MacDonald.

We are incredibly proud of the work ethic, maturity and creativity they have demonstrated throughout their placements. They have all been fantastic ambassadors for UTC and a real credit to us.

Some students also secured their own work experience opportunities. A special shoutout to Jaxon, who received outstanding feedback during his placement with Henry Boot, a fantastic achievement!
