Soul River Holistic Coaching and Workshops Holistic coaching and workshops Welcome to my page! My name is Tunde, I'm the founder of Soul River Holistic Coaching. I live in Sheffield, UK.

I created Soul River to help people cope through self awareness and self exploration in these extremely challenging times. Despite living in greater comfort and abundance than ever in history, the degree of loneliness, depression and a general sense of imbalance is unprecedented. In our modern society it’s easy to get lost, disconnected and confused if the only direction available is that of the world around us. Despite all worldly success and achievements our soul is craving something that is more authentic and fulfilling. We offer courses and workshops in various holistic and spiritual topics as well as one-to-one life coaching from a much needed spiritual angle. Topics:

- how to find self respect and recognise what's toxic for us
- healing our wounded feminine and restoring our joy, sensuality and creativity that have been neglected among the overly masculine energies of our times
- how we can find our inherent, ancient wisdom we have forgotten over the centuries and how we can return to it
- how to develop an independent mindset that is not affected by the media and the world around us

This quote from Jim Morrison is so true. It reminds me of why I started Soul River. Society consists of individuals and their general level of consciousness determines where society goes. That's why I don't believe in politics or any social regulations. They only work on the surface and if the individuals don't go through an inner transformation the problems return, often in a more aggressive form. If we want to make any serious changes in the world we have to start with the individuals. The light of a person with high consciousness, self awareness and integrity has an enormous impact. Even without saying a word.

Last Friday I visited the Mindfulness Festival at beautiful Kirkstall Abbey near Leeds. It's still on until the 22nd Oct, book an event if you can, it's free and very uplifting in the gorgeous Rose Room. The one I visited was called The Power Of The Womb and we learnt a gentle but powerful womb healing meditation. As healing wounded femininity is one of the topics I'm preparing a workshop about I'm so glad I went as I can incorporate what I learnt into my own classes.

As I'm thinking about doing a workshop on self love and self respect, I'm realising that I'm more determined about this topic than ever. There is sad actuality to it. A close friend of mine committed su***de this summer, a beautiful, bright, altruistic soul who dedicated her life to helping vulnerable people, an NHS hero. Bullied at work for being a foreigner and for being too pretty, constantly under demand from her family for financial and emotional support, abused by patients on the dementia ward she worked on, her entire life was about giving more and more and more. Among all her 'duties' there was one she didn't fulfil: the duty to care for and nourish herself. When there was nothing more to give from anymore, she deteriorated quickly and suddenly. Death came as a relief from an internal hell most people wouldn't be able to function in as long as she did.
What are the early signs of not giving ourselves enough self love? Where and in what situations do we have opportunities to practice self love and stand up for ourselves? My self love workshop will try to answer these questions and provide practical help. Watch this space for more info.

As the news continue to frighten us in order to increase our fear and sense of insecurity, let's not forget that everything starts in the human mind. With self awareness and determination we are able to overcome anything life throws at us. We are able to come out as winners as our pure human consciousness is the perfect replica of the Divine's infinite creating power. No physical or social situation can triumph over the power of the human mind that is in line with its authentic self and in touch with the Divine.

Being and staying with ourselves is one of the most challenging things in our time. The number of exciting distractions from the outside world is literally unlimited. As a consequence of this it's more difficult to find inner peace and follow our inner guidance these days than it has ever been during the history of humanity.

Taking only baby steps at a time is more helpful than drastic changes. Sitting on the bus without using your phone can be a great start to learn and practice finding joy in our own company. This can be the beginning of the most exciting and most important journey humans can experience, a journey back to ourselves.

Autumn is the time for reflection and introspection, for slowing down and tasting, smelling, feeling, enjoying life in a manner that is more mature and contemplative than what summer can offer. Like a meditative forest walk. Its healing is amplified if we can switch our head off and just be. I took this photo - and many others - in magical Norfolk Park in Sheffield.

I'm putting together the material for my first workshop, Self Love. It's a deeply misunderstood subject. I hope this course will help clarify things a bit. Self Love has never been about loving the ego and becoming egoistic. It's not even about self confidence in its traditional meaning. There are several aspects to self love and all will be explored in the workshop.

One of the less known aspects is Self Forgiveness. Without Self Forgiveness self love is only a one-legged giant. Self Forgiveness requires facing our deeply buried shame, self hatred, self rejection and guilt. There is a cruel and draconic judge living in ourselves, torturing and hurting us constantly. Through Self Forgiveness we can recognize this judge, identify its tricks and lies. This will give us the power to stop feeding it and build up a loving, forgiving attitude to ourselves.
