❤️ A big week of independence, creativity and food‑themed fun across Nursery and the Baby Room!

Our older children harvested home‑grown courgettes with Lisa and turned them into imaginative mud‑kitchen dinners, sparking brilliant conversations about healthy eating. Smith kept the theme going with tomatoes, watermelon, carrots and peppers — the children chopped, mixed and made their own “soup”, showing fantastic turn‑taking and knife safety. 🥕🍉

Meanwhile in the Baby Room, our little ones have been taking confident steps into Main Nursery, even using regular cups at snack time — and doing amazingly well. We’re so proud of how they explored their new space… even if it was harder for the adults to let go! ❤️

Chloe’s favourite song “5, 6, 7, 8” has become a daily hit, complete with cowboy hats and barn‑dance moves. The babies also enjoyed cucumber, oranges and coloured water, pouring endless “cups of tea” in the mud kitchen.

Outdoors, we embraced water, sand and sunshine with train rides around the garden, a lively tug of war with Brick, and colourful ice play led by Miss Regan — colour mixing was a huge success! ❄️🎨

Our challenge word Tea Bags inspired creativity everywhere: splatting, painting, dyeing paper, sensory trays and even pirate maps. The Baby Room ended the week with a playful paint fight… and the adults pretended the babies had more fun. 😉

It’s also been a busy week of transitions, with school visits for our older children and smooth settling‑in sessions for those moving from the Baby Room to Main Nursery.

We finished on a high with Sammie from Boogie Tots — singing, dancing and plenty of giggles all round. 💛

☀️ What a wonderful week at nursery!
We’ve soaked up the sunshine with plenty of water play, creativity and a hilarious new challenge — each Key Group was given a single toilet roll to transform into a themed activity! The results were chaotic, clever and absolutely brilliant. 💦🧡

Our babies loved chasing Liss’s colourful wind catchers and watching the tissues turn blue in the water, while Chloe’s group turned their toilet roll into mushy “ice cream” for our very own ice cream parlour. 🍦

Brick took things to a whole new level with her unforgettable “balloon bums” activity — practising wiping using toilet roll, brown paint and balloons on chairs. The children thought it was the funniest thing ever!

Autumn set up a fantastic doctor’s surgery, where the children bandaged and plastered her from head to toe. She left looking like the most cared‑for patient in town!

Miss Regan explored blowing rolled‑up tissues through a toilet roll tube, experimenting with angles, grip and blowing strength. It didn’t take long before the children turned it into a playful tissue‑shooting game, giggling nonstop.

Dee Dee delivered a wonderfully messy activity that the children adored. After her clear demonstration, they jumped straight in — showing brilliant turn‑taking, motor skills, colour mixing, counting and problem‑solving. One activity… every area of learning. Amazing work, Dee Dee! ⭐️

Across the week, the children enjoyed lots of spontaneous fun too — so do ask them what they got up to with the toilet roll challenge! 😂

We also joined in with the Big Butterfly Count, creating giant butterflies to fly around the garden. The children showed fantastic pencil control and creativity as they coloured and designed their wings. 🦋

We even set up a brand‑new mini world area with pretend grass, sticker road tape and a garage — the boys have been obsessed with pushing their cars around. 🚗

And a massive well done to our Nursery Staff for sprinkling love and care across our Front Garden and Nature Garden ahead of Queenborough In Bloom. The judges were so impressed by the children’s knowledge of flowers and insects, and the gardens looked absolutely beautiful.

A big shout‑out to Al’s Ice for visiting us every year — it’s become such a special annual treat for our children and staff. 🍦💛 And a huge thank you to the wonderful young people who joined us for their work‑experience week; we absolutely love supporting them, especially when they’re children we taught many years ago. Watching them return as confident young adults is truly heart‑warming. 🌟

It’s been a wonderfully colourful week across the Baby Room and Nursery as we celebrated Pride with vibrant activities, outdoor play and lots of creative learning. From colour‑themed challenges and a little lemonade stand 🍋 to turn‑taking games, stories and ‘What’s in the bag’, the children have been full of smiles.

Our babies enjoyed scooping and pouring water, sharing bowls and cups, fruit drawing, bubble fun, boats and bubbles, and plenty of messy mud‑kitchen play — with Smith joining in for some enthusiastic water fights 🧡

Meanwhile, the older children loved picking blackberries and making milkshakes and puddings with Miss Regan, as well as creating colour‑water lollipop sticks that turned into beautiful rainbows. Thank you, Miss Regan 💙

The sunshine brought lots of water play and refreshing ice pops, which were a huge hit. We ended the week with a sweet Teddy Bears Picnic for our school leavers — a lovely chance to spend time with families. A special thank you to our lovely parents and Bosuns for providing ice pops for all the children ☀️

Here’s to more sunshine, learning and giggles next week 😊

Such a lovely morning spent down at the allotments today. There’s something so special about being part of a rich, caring community — everyone growing, sharing, and supporting each other. Feeling very grateful for the little moments that make our days brighter 🌿🩵

Today, we were delighted to welcome some of the wonderful children from Teddy Bears Day Care to our allotment site.

The children were warmly greeted by allotment holder Mrs Brett and the Mayor of Queenborough, Cllr Paula Telford, who also serves as Chair of the Town Council’s Allotment Committee.

During their visit, the children enjoyed learning about how vegetables are grown, exploring the allotments, and discovering where fresh food comes from. It was fantastic to see their curiosity and enthusiasm as they engaged with nature and gardening.

We are always delighted to welcome Teddy Bears Day Care and look forward to seeing them again for more fun and learning at the allotments! 🌱🥕🍅

🌞 What a wonderfully warm week it’s been!
We’ve worked hard to keep everyone cool, hydrated, and smiling. Our paddling pools, sprinklers and water play have been absolute lifesavers, bringing endless giggles and splashes!

Despite the heat, the children enjoyed a busy week of learning — from painting bird feeders for our garden display to sun‑themed activities, messy play, gluing, fishing with nets and lots of fun challenges that kept everyone engaged. These experiences have supported turn‑taking, communication and plenty of discovery. Why not ask your little one what their favourite activity was?

Wishing you all a lovely weekend, whatever the weather brings. We look forward to seeing you on Monday 😊
