Sports day 2023
Well done to all the students who took part in sports day, it was wonderful to see everyone celebrating each other’s efforts and successes!
We began the week with KS1 completing their sports day on Monday. The students showcased their skills in various races and finished with a very competitive head to head class race! All the students have shown determination and drive to perfect the skills needed in these races. For this, the class teachers, class TAs and I are extremely proud of them.
A special mention also to the year 6 children who helped set up the equipment and made sure the day ran smoothly. They were encouraging, passionate and took pride in their jobs for the day. They all demonstrated exceptional leadership and organisational skills, which makes them inspiring role models for the younger students to look up to.
Well done KS1!
Across the week, we completed all of our KS2 sports days. The students signed up for their chosen events earlier in the term, which allowed us to have lots of time to practice each event in the weeks leading up to sports day. They all practised with a desire to improve so they could be in with a chance to take home the vital points for their houses on the day. Well done to all those who took part and competed in the events of the day.
After adding up the points, we had a winning house for each year group, which went as follows:
Year 3: Harty
Year 4: Shurland
Year 5: Kingsferry
Year 6: Harty
However… Our winning house overall… After tallying up the points goes too…
Kingsferry!!!
A final special mention to all those who either joined in our parents races or showed up to show their support for the children. There was a great atmosphere on the track and it was amazing to watch all the parents motivating and cheering on all that took part. The day would not have been the same without you.
