twinkle twinkle

Hi everyone, following on from discussions at the end of Zoom class this morning and after much deliberation, I have decided it's time to take a break from Twinkle. Twinkle has been a part of my life for 12 years, so this decision hasn't come easily. I have made lots of friends and happy memories so not continuing does make me sad.
I am very grateful and feel privileged to have been able to be part of so many young people's lives. I'm particularly grateful to those who continued to support me throughout the last 12 months.
The pandemic has really tested us all. Twinkle works best when we're all in a room interacting together and forming friendships, not just for the little ones, but their parents/grandparents too. I offered zoom classes as a chance for us to keep friendships going and for a little cheerful escapism.
There is so much 'screentime' at the moment and by having Twinkle via Zoom, it was just adding to this. With the weather improving and days getting longer, I feel now is the time to encourage more outdoor time and hopefully you'll soon be able to meet up with friends and enjoy the outdoors together. Perhaps that can include me sometime in the future.
If I can hold it together, we will have one last Zoom class on Friday 5th March.

I understand from another local group that there's been a recent announcement that parent and child groups are exempt from the current restrictions in tier 4 due to the support we offer new parents and the developmental benefits to the children. I have not checked whether this statement is true but would like to state that I am not prepared to put you, your children or myself at any additional risk when we are being asked to stay at home. I do not have the facility or finances to implement anything like track/trace or anything needed to provide a sanitised environment/equipment. Plus at present, we don't have any premises!
I'm aware that by providing Zoom classes (for free or by voluntary donation) that I have lost a large number of families but I have enjoyed offering these sessions to those who have supported Twinkle and for the time being, will continue to do so.
It is looking like for the considerable future, Twinkle will not be able to meet in person, which is disappointing but I believe is the best option in current circumstances xx

All ready for our Twinkle Twinkle Halloween Zoom party this morning at 10am

Join us on Zoom next Friday (30th Oct) at 10am for some Halloween fun! Songs, stories and halloween games. Message me for login details. Invite your friends.

Thinking of doing something Halloweeny for our Zoom class on Fri 30th Oct. Anyone got any requests/ideas? Who's going to join us? It will be half-term for most, so older siblings and those who may not normally be able to join us are welcome too!

With the older children heading back to school over the next week or so, don't forget I'm still running a Twinkle Twinkle Zoom class at 10am on Fridays during the school term. Open to anyone with children under 5. Please spread the word and I'll provide login and paypal details for anyone who would like to join and make a donation. For safe guarding reasons, please do not share login details. Thanks xx

Hi everyone. Just been informed by the owners of the Masonic Hall that they are not looking at letting the hall out until at least November!
I will continue to do the Friday Zoom class over the summer and then reassess the way forward in September xx
