This is Harriet, an incredible client who shifted her focus away from ‘good’ and ‘bad’ foods, yoyo diets, and being super restrictive with food.

Before this new approach, Harriet was anxious about the numbers on the scales and making decisions around food left her with crippling guilt if she ate anything ‘bad’.

She couldn’t bear the thought of social occasions because it would “ruin” her ‘diet’.

Whenever she did go out, she found herself saying “Sod it’ I’ve ruined my diet now, I’ll start again on Monday.”

It’s common for women to get stuck in that ‘all or nothing’ mentality.

Being super restrictive with foods, only to be starving and later binge on high calorie foods.

So, when I suggested we explore a slower habit-based approach instead, Harriet was sceptical, to say the least.

If this 110% approach wasn’t working for her…

…how could something as basic as consistently performing habits do any better?!

Wasn’t it a bit too… well, simple?

💯 It’s 100% simple; that’s precisely the point.

Habit-based coaching works because it makes things feel easy.

There’s no massive disruption to a person’s lifestyle.

Plus, it’s designed to fit in with their specific circumstances.

Looking after the kids? Fine.

Shift worker? No problem.

Caring for loved ones? Great.

Limited time? Doesn’t matter.

Habit-based changes can immediately slot into your day in a way that suits you.

If you’ve ever tried to quit a bad habit, you’ll know how persistent they can be.

~ Skipping meals.
~ Staying up late doom scrolling social media.
~ Relying too much on caffeine.

Habits are hard to break because they’re unconscious actions.
They just happen.

Luckily, if we nurture good habits for long enough, they can be just as persistent as bad ones.

Which is brilliant news!

Once they become a habit, they’re effortless. You don’t even think about them.

That’s what we’re focusing on in the FIT INTO FABULOUS challenge that’s kicking off on 7th May.

Now, I’m not saying that after just 5 days of the challenge, you’ll have lots of incredible, set-in-stone habits.

But you’ll be well on your way to feeling more energised, more in control of your choices, and generally more positive.

That’s a bloody good start, I reckon.

📣 Hello fellow working mums! 🙋‍♀️

Let's talk about the real struggle of being a business owner/worker, a fitness enthusiast, and a mum during the school holidays! 🏫👩‍💼💪

As much as I love spending quality time with the kids, the guilt of working while they're at home can be hard. 😔 I want to be fully present for them, creating lasting memories and enjoying every minute, but there's also my business to run, right? 📈💼

And, on top of that, I’m determined to keep my fitness routines going, because taking care of myself is vital! It’s also my job!! 🏋️‍♀️💦 But finding time for my usual workout amidst work and family can feel like an Olympic challenge sometimes. 🤸‍♀️😅

On the flip side, when I try to balance work, fitness, and family time, the guilt of not being able to give my undivided attention to either can be overwhelming. 😩 I feel torn between three worlds, questioning whether I'm doing justice to any of my roles. It's a constant juggling act that leaves me feeling like I'm not doing enough. 😰

So here's the big question: Is there a middle ground where we can find balance and sanity for the hols? 🤔

Let's be honest with each other, finding the perfect balance when the routine is out the window, might seem vague, but we're all in this together! 💪💕

We may not have all the answers, but we can share our experiences, and tips, and support each other during these challenging times. I can’t be the only one who feels like this🤝
