Last week, our children celebrated Earth Day with a nature walk 🌍🌿
We spent time outdoors exploring the natural world, noticing the signs of spring, and talking about how we can help care for our planet. It was a lovely opportunity to learn, explore, and appreciate the world around us together.

Our Year 3/4 class had an amazing visit to the Greater Manchester Police Museum!
We stepped back in time, explored real police cells, and learned all about how policing has changed over the years. The children asked brilliant questions and were fascinated by the stories and history.
A huge thank you to the museum staff for such an engaging and memorable experience!
Farrowdale House had a brilliant Discovery Day at Rishworth School, filled with collaboration, curiosity, and learning. Together, we are building brighter futures.
Recent announcements of local school closures have created a deeply unsettling time for many children, families and dedicated staff. While Farrowdale House is not closing, our thoughts are with every member of those communities as they navigate the uncertainty ahead.
At moments like this, the values of our sector matter more than ever. Independent schools speak often about community, kindness and integrity and those principles should guide how we treat one another when schools are facing closure.
It is disappointing to hear that some schools are actively approaching families and seeking to recruit pupils before these communities have even had the chance to finish their time together. Children, parents and staff deserve the dignity of closing this chapter with stability and support, not additional pressure at an already emotional time.
Families will, of course, need support in finding their next school when the time comes. But that support should be offered with sensitivity, patience and respect for the school communities that are coming to an end.
At this difficult time, we believe the wellbeing of children, families and staff must come before competition. Kindness should lead.
Big smiles. Bright futures.
Now welcoming new pupils to our independent preparatory school.
