Meet Suzi - the face behind Topaz Health Training!
Suzi has spent over 25 years helping people look after their health and wellbeing. She wears a few different hats around here, from teaching vital first aid to local schools and businesses, to working as a hypnotherapist and coach to help people shake off stress. Basically, she is the ultimate person to have in your corner.
While she has a first-class degree and a mountain of qualifications, there is absolutely no stuffiness with Suzi. She is incredibly down-to-earth and loves nothing more than a proper chat.
To help you get to know her a bit better, here is a quick look at Suzi outside the training room:
The Great Outdoors: When she isn't coaching, you will usually find her out in the fresh air with her family, dogs and horses.
The Foodie: Her favourite food is pretty much everything, though she has a huge soft spot for Italian. She is all about a healthy balance of the good stuff and the wonderfully not-so-healthy stuff!
The Mantra: Suzi lives by the motto "Believe and you can," and she has a wonderful way of making everyone feel comfortable and confident.
Whether you are here for a first aid qualification or some practical wellbeing support, Suzi is always ready for a chat.
Drop her a hello in the comments below!

Last week was a particularly memorable one for Topaz Health Training.
I spent time at the historic Carisbrooke Castle delivering Emergency First Aid at Work training to the English Heritage staff on behalf of
It was such a lovely team to train and a real privilege to work in such a unique setting. In 26 years of delivering training sessions this was a significant first for me as it was the oldest building I have ever worked in and my first time ever training inside a castle. As an English Heritage member myself it was a special opportunity to support the staff who look after such an iconic island landmark.
In the same week I also worked in partnership with to deliver EFAW training for Next Wave Care Ltd in Sandown. It is always rewarding to see local organisations prioritising the safety and wellbeing of their teams.
Whether we are in a historic monument or a local care setting the goal remains the same: ensuring people have the practical skills and confidence to handle emergencies. It was a busy but very fulfilling week of training sessions across the island and I am looking forward to seeing what next week brings.

This year’s theme encourages us to focus on the power of connection, support and community – because small actions and open conversations can make a real difference. 🙌
Whether at work, at home or in the community, creating supportive spaces helps people feel heard, valued and less alone.
Let’s continue making mental wellbeing a priority – this week and beyond.
