A new term, a new course - or needing to revise for the up and coming A-levels in Economics? I started teaching Economics as a University tutor in 1994 and love sharing the insights gained over the years alongside my studies and books written in Philosophy and Political Philosophy and Education. Each year, I take on several Economics students to help them improve their grades and University or career aspirations. UK government - economic illogic. PM says he wants to avoid austerity by raising taxes ... whose austerity is he referring to?

Obviously government projects including funding Ukraine war and government salaries. Austerity will though be imposed on the private sector - and add to that, the Chancellor is seeking to raise the minimum wage. Sounds noble, but she's not paying for it, so economic principles suggest that there will be an impact on employment.

Such is the lack of economic literacy these days.
