The Acorns Have Gathered

Today is a landmark, a signpost, a crossroads,
A pathway from old times to new pastures green...
The memories, the journeying, the changing, the growing,
Makes each one of us, a result of what's been.

The journey hasn't ended, it's just spreading outwards...
As each one takes forth all the things they have learned,
And spreads them much further to all they encounter,
To impact the world, every moment in turn.

So be blessed, dear Acorns, and enjoy your new ventures!
You'll stay in our hearts for forever, be sure!
And thank you for blessing our time here together,
The acorns have gathered, for planting once more.

We had so much fun with water in the garden with the Ready for Schoolers, who came prepared with swim wear, this morning! What a great way to keep cool. Needless to say, all the adults required a change of clothes afterwards! 💦💦

We are into the final three weeks, before we close on Friday 18th July and there is a lot going on!

We had our Family Summer Outing and Ready for School Police Constable visit, Oral Health Educator and trip to Shaftesbury Library. The new Teachers have also been visiting.

We're looking forward to seeing the fire engines on our final Ready for School outing and then a big picnic with everyone, as we say goodbye on the last day.

The great team here work so hard to make sure each little one has the very best experience they can, every day. We're very grateful to all of our lovely Parents/Guardians for all of their support.
..Oh and this little one came to see the children recently too!

We took our butterflies back into the garden this morning and said goodbye to them.

We loved watching them gradually fly off one by one as we waved to them.

It felt a little poignant and very special... 🙌

We took the 5 butterflies into the garden to release, but they were happy to walk on our hands instead! We don't think they were quite ready to say goodbye, so we brought them back inside in their hatching net home. We'll see if they're ready tomorrow or Friday ☺️💗

The rest of the butterflies hatched today. We will release them tomorrow or Thursday 🌳🦋

There was great excitement today when SH noticed that one of the butterflies had hatched! The children watched it moving round inside the hatching net and tried to work through in their minds the transformation that had taken place. Some found this easier than others! Isn't nature amazing!? 🐛➡️🦋

We had the last of our R4S (Ready 4 School) small group trips to Lidl today.

Staff and children have enjoyed this hugely beneficial time out together, with many learning opportunities. They've been fruit and veg spotting (ticking off ones they've found), counting, weighing, comparing, handling money, talking about the job roles of shop workers, importance of road safety etc...

Each group chose different fruits to bring back to Pre -School...we had a pineapple, watermelon, strawberries, gala melon etc. They then chopped them up and tasted them.

As you can imagine, all this has sparked lots of new vocabulary and awareness, as well as new friendships 💗
