We were absolutely delighted to receive this certificate this morning, which details the total hours St Mary’s DofE participants donated to the local community between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2020.

Across the whole of the South West, DofE participants contributed an incredible 331,994 volunteering hours to help others, which equates to a social value of over £1,440,000!

At a time when volunteering and supporting the local community could not be more important, Heather Thompson, DofE South West Director, has passed on her thanks to St Mary’s Shaftesbury, our wonderful DofE Manager, staff volunteers, and our incredible students who have made, and continue to make, such a positive impact on their local community.

Mrs Bowe would like to extend her thanks to all those people who have sent kind messages on email, cards and social media to wish her well for her retirement. All have been very touching and have provided a wonderful conclusion to a long career of service at St Mary’s. She hopes that many will keep in touch and wishes everyone well for the future.
