LEAVERS’ EXIT INTERVIEWS | GABI

Just before a brand-new term begins, we’re looking back and celebrating some of our amazing Leavers who took part in our TLW Exit Interviews.

We wanted to create these interviews to capture a little piece of each dancer’s TLW journey before they leave us. Their favourite memories, the things they’ve learnt along the way, the challenges, the achievements and, of course, a few fun facts too!

We also hope their stories will inspire our younger dancers and show them just how far their own TLW journey could take them.

First up is Gabi!

Gabi joined TLW when she was just five and a half years old, and we have had the absolute privilege of watching her grow into the incredible dancer and young person she is today.

She has achieved so much during her time with us, and this summer has been particularly special. Gabi spent a month in America training at the incredible Juilliard School, achieved a High Distinction in her RAD Advanced 2 ballet exam and, in just a few days, at only 16 years old, she’ll begin the next chapter of her training at Rambert School.

We couldn’t be prouder of everything Gabi has achieved, but even more than that, we are so proud of the dancer and person she has become.

Have a watch to hear Gabi talk about growing up at TLW, some of her favourite memories and a few fun facts along the way.

Please share this one with our younger dancers too. Gabi’s journey is a wonderful reminder of where a love of dance, lots of hard work and many years at TLW can lead.

We are going to miss you so much, Gabi, but we cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes you. 💕

I honestly don’t know where to start with this one… except to say how incredibly proud we are of every single one of our students who took a ballet exam this summer.

For us, exam success has never simply been about the result. Every student has their own journey, their own challenges and their own goals, and stepping into that exam room and achieving something they have worked so hard towards is something to be incredibly proud of.

But amongst this summer’s wonderful results, there have been some particularly outstanding achievements and special milestones that we really wanted to take a moment to celebrate!

From students taking their very first ballet exams, to those progressing through the grades, we’ve celebrated personal bests, Distinctions, and some very exciting TLW records.

Behind every one of those results are hours of classes, hard work, corrections, rehearsals, nerves, determination and students who kept going even when something felt difficult. Seeing how much they have grown, not just as dancers, but in their confidence and belief in themselves, is what makes us most proud.

A huge congratulations to every single student who took an exam this summer. Whatever the result on the piece of paper, you should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved.

What an incredible result for our Skools Out cast!

We couldn’t be prouder of every dancer who took to the stage at Shaftesbury Fringe. They gave it everything, and coming away with two awards is an amazing achievement for the whole cast.

A huge thank you to Shaftesbury Fringe for giving local performers the opportunity to take to the stage and showcase what they love. We’re so grateful for everything that goes into making the Fringe such a brilliant celebration of local talent.

And thank you to our wonderful Shaftesbury community... to everyone who came along, cheered, supported and voted for us. It means so much to our dancers and to all of us at TLW.

And finally, to our performers... CONGRATULATIONS! You worked so hard, supported each other and gave it your all. We hope you’re as proud of yourselves as we are. 💙
