✨ WE’RE HIRING – NURSERY PRACTITIONER ✨

Location: Shaftesbury & Gillingham, Dorset
Salary: Up to £31,104 per year (pro rata for part time)
Hours: Full-time and Part-time roles available

Due to an exciting influx of new children starting with us, Flying Start Nurseries are looking for caring and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioners to join our friendly team.
Flying Start is a small chain of private day nurseries in Shaftesbury and Gillingham, Dorset, offering a warm home-from-home environment where children feel safe, happy and supported to thrive.

The Role
✨Provide high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS
✨Support children’s learning through play, exploration and engaging activities
✨Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for all children
✨Build strong relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues
✨Observe, assess and record children’s development and progress
✨Plan and support activities based on children’s individual needs and interests
✨Promote children’s wellbeing, independence and confidence
✨Follow safeguarding, health & safety and nursery policies at all times
✨Work as part of a supportive team to maintain high standards across the nursery

Requirements
✨Childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred)
✨Maths and English at Grade 5 or above
✨A kind, professional and proactive attitude
✨Strong teamwork and communication skills

Christmas Wishes to you all! 🎄

As the year draws to a close (and we all try to remember what day it is), I want to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has made this year so special.

To our wonderful children – thank you for the laughter, the cuddles, the curiosity… and for keeping us on our toes every single day. You are the reason we do what we do 💛

To our amazing parents and families – thank you for your trust, kindness, patience, and support throughout the year. We are so grateful to be part of your children’s early journeys (and for the kind words, and understanding on those extra-busy days!).

To our incredible staff and management team – thank you for your hard work, dedication, care, professionalism, and humour. You truly are the heart of this little nursery group, this isn’t possible without you.

To the local businesses and community members who so generously contributed to our Christmas giveaway – thank you for your kindness, generosity, and community spirit. You helped bring smiles, excitement, and a little extra sparkle to Christmas, and we are truly grateful 🎁✨

A very special thank you goes to Heather, who organised our Christmas giveaway. From planning to coordinating to keeping everything running smoothly – your hard work did not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly thankful.

Christmas Giveaway – Day 15! ✨🎄

For our final day, we’re ending with our prize donation A Yoto Player and 7 Gruffalo & Friends cards! 📚🎁

Yoto is a wonderful screen-free audio player that children can enjoy at mealtimes, throughout the day, on the go, and at bedtime. A calm, comforting way to listen and unwind.

We use a Yoto Player daily at Flying Start and it’s a firm favourite with both children and staff.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported and taken part in our 15 Days of Christmas Giveaway, especially all the parents and local businesses who made it possible.
