After a hot and sticky day, and a frustrating and difficult journey home from work it can be hard to motivate yourself to go and train. I’m glad I did. Not only great workout, but I was lucky enough to have three of these fly-by treats!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, to those who are trying to become dads, those who have lost their dad, those dads who have lost a child, step dads, those who are stepping up to cover that parental role in some way, struggling dads, single parents, foster dads and all positive role models.

We had a small club test today.

I always feel that breaking is not essential - try your best but sometimes it’s not to be. It’s more about having the courage to try, the speed, skill and good technique necessary to break the board. And sometimes it just doesn’t happen.

But today was not that day.

Today the courage, speed and technique were all aligned!

It occurred to me just now (I know, right! 🙄) that this year, in fact this recent tournament, marks 25 years of me being a black belt in K*k Sool Won!

What a ride! I’m forever grateful for the opportunities this has given me. The amazing people I’ve met along the way, the experiences I’ve shared with them, and the places I’ve been as a part of that journey.
