I know lots of the art explorers are very into the World Cup and most likely would have watched last nights game so I decided today would be a pop art inspired World Cup or Wimbledon session . We had a look at artworks by pop artists then used images from the World Cup and Wimbledon to help design a unique pop art style sporting picture - a range of acrylic markers, watercolour and pencil were used. ⚽️

There was actually no paint or pens at art club this week! Instead we created with jewellery wire and card after looking at the kinetic sculptures made by Alexander Calder. The club loved experimenting with bending the wire into different shapes. One of the art explorers told me she would cherish her mobile for the rest of her life, which truly made my day!

The cuddly toys had an outing to art club! We focused on observational drawing, using a range of techniques, some with no rubber allowed! This was very popular and there have been requests to make the toys into clay models so watch this space.
