🐥✨ THEY’VE HATCHED ✨🐥
The ducklings have hatched at Little Treacles Nursery, and the excitement levels have been high!
Today, the children had the opportunity to very gently stroke and cuddle the ducklings whilst learning all about being calm, kind and caring around animals. The care and gentleness they showed was absolutely beautiful to watch. 💛
There have already been so many wonderful conversations about:
🪶 Their fluffy feathers
🐥 Their tiny quacks
🥚 How they hatched
💦 What ducklings need to grow
💩 And, very importantly, according to the children… where their poo comes out of. 😂
Moments like this create real awe and wonder within early years learning, giving children the opportunity to experience curiosity, excitement, empathy and discovery first-hand. Watching their faces light up today has been truly magical. ✨

🐣✨ SPECIAL DELIVERY ✨🐣
Our duck eggs arrived at Little Treacles Nursery yesterday and have been keeping warm in the incubator.
The children were fascinated, watching them being carefully set up and talking about what might be happening inside the eggs. They even got to see the first one start to hatch earlier today! 🐣
Over the next few days, we’ll be:
🥚 Observing changes
🔍 Developing investigation and observation skills
🗣️ Building new language and vocabulary
🔢 Counting and comparing
💛 Learning about care, life cycles and living things

The egg-citement levels amongst both children AND staff are already through the roof. 😂
Now we wait patiently for tiny quacks… 🐥

Today, our Little Treacles have been busy exploring the wonderful world of bees! 💛

From building bees with play dough to developing their early maths skills by carefully counting and adding the correct number of stripes, the children have been learning through play, creativity and curiosity 🐝🎨🔢

We think our little bees did a bee-rilliant job today! 🖤💛
