Huge congratulations to our two Pre-School pupils who achieved outstanding success in the national ‘If You Were an Engineer, What Would You Do?’ competition! 🎉

One pupil was named a South East regional winner, while another received a Highly Commended award — an incredible achievement at such a young age.

The Granville School submitted over 150 entries to the competition, with children showcasing fantastic creativity, imagination and problem-solving skills through their inventive designs. Across the school, pupils achieved 2 Distinctions, 17 Merits and 11 shortlisted places, as recognised by VIP engineering judges.

We are so proud of all our young engineers! 💡👏

Our Year 5 and 6 girls enjoyed a fantastic Musical Theatre Masterclass with professional performer Tom Watson ahead of our upcoming production of The Greatest Show on 18th June 🎭✨

From learning choreography to developing melodramatic characters, the girls threw themselves into every moment with enthusiasm and energy. Tom was incredibly impressed by their talent, focus and ability to pick up routines so quickly — and excitement is definitely building for what promises to be a real showstopper! 🌟

Big skills for our brilliant Year 6s 💪✨

Our girls kicked off the next stage of the Granville Graduate Programme with hands-on First Aid training 🚑 From CPR to dealing with burns, choking and more, they threw themselves into every scenario with confidence and focus.

A huge thank you to Rhona from Help Save Lives for guiding them through such an important (and empowering!) experience — we’re proud of how ready they were to step up and give it a go. 💙

💙 Our swimmers have been making waves!

From a hugely successful first combined gala for The Granville and The New Beacon — where both schools secured fantastic victories, and The Granville emerged as the girls’ winners of the gala 🏆 — to our U10 Medley Relay Team qualifying for the IAPS National Swimming Championships at the London Aquatic Centre, our swimmers continue to impress.

A huge congratulations to all involved — we are incredibly proud of you! 🏊‍♀️💙

From baby goats and brave snail tasting to bread making, seal spotting and campfire dancing — Year 6 had an unforgettable week in Northern France! 🐐 🐌 🇫🇷✨

The girls embraced every activity with enthusiasm, curiosity and superb manners throughout the trip, and we are so proud of them all. Highlights included visiting the sweet shop, meeting animals at local farms, learning traditional baking techniques and enjoying evenings together at Château du Broutel.

A fantastic week full of adventure, laughter and memories to last a lifetime! 💙

📚🌍 Extreme Reading Competition🌍📚

As part of our World Book Day celebration, our pupils participated in an Extreme Reading Competition which saw them taking their reading to some truly unusual, exotic and unexpected places — all while staying safe, of course! From skiing and rock climbing to horse riding and other creative hideaways, we’ve loved seeing books brought to life in such fun and adventurous ways.

Thank you to everyone who submitted their fantastic photos and shared what they’ve been reading! A brilliant celebration of reading beyond the classroom - we’re already looking forward to next year!
