Can someone tell me about these reins. What are they for?
4 D rings near the buckle.
6near the bottom one each rein.
I was given them to use in my bag making, but just wondered about them....
Thanks.

Hi,
My name is Judith.
I love saddles.
I love making things out of:-
🐴 - saddles that hold very special memories.
🐴 - saddles and tack that are no longer fit for use.
I am a rider, I take part in TREC and Endurance.
I understand the emotional attachment that we form with our horses and sometimes, when our horse is no longer with us we hold onto our tack.
If you would like to commission a bag made out of a special saddle please get in touch with me.
If you have an old saddle that you know cannot be used but you just don't feel right putting into waste please consider giving it to me. I will be very happy to come and collect it from you.
Link in comments to my instagtam page.
I would love to hear from you.
Please tag all your horsey friends. thank you.

Do you have young children or grandchildren?
Lizzy has designed some super Winter Olympic themed colouring sheets.
These are available free for you to print - take a look at her Instagram page.
Share this with any teacher friends you have as these would be a super wer break activity before the opening ceremony tomorrow.

Love this stage ... making decisions, trying things out.
Retired saddle to be exceptionally useful as the comfy bag you can wear cross body or on one shoulder.
Checking there is room for my tablet- yes there is.
Clips ready ... wondering about a bag charm which is hand cut and hand stitched from the saddle.
Maybe this one, or maybe one with red stitches?
Decisions, decisions.
Love the next stage, putting it all together ❤️red or brown stitches for the pony bag charm?

This is my prototype.
Hand cut, hand stitched.
Started yesterday, finished today.
Wow - no idea that this would take so long...
My first equestrian bag charm completed.

Still white this morning❄️
Looks gorgeous but with 2 water leaks in the lane and an earlier temperature of -6° the icy lanes are rather dangerous.
Sensible brain says:- light the fire, continue the jigsaw, plan some leatherwork and head out tomorrow instead...

Happy New Year everyone.
Wishing you all good health, good friendships and happiness.
Also keep yourselves active in mind and body and try something new. Dare I say that this becomes more important as the years fly by.
I would love to know what new things you try in 2026.

R & R for exhausted adults in the new year...
As a teacher I always loved this time of the year. All the Christmas activities etc.
Maybe I taught some of you ... or maybe I taught your children. If so please drop me a message below.
As a parent I know how exhausting this time of the year can be. My three girls had so much energy, just day after day of boundless energy. Come January a bit of quiet time was needed (except that I was straight back to teaching)
In 2026 I will be scheduling some workshops, close to Sevenoaks, starting in the new year.
Some for adults to learn skills, chill, relax and chat.
Some workshops will be over half terms and holidays for an adult and child to make things together.
Some courses will be working with leather, others with fabrics.
I am not giving too much away at this stage but I will just mention "hearts" will be on the agenda soon ❤️❤️
Please share this post with your friends, follow my page and keep an eye open for details. My Instagram link is in the comments below.
Have a wonderful Christmas everyone. 🌲🎅🎄🎁
