🐦 The Big Garden Bird Watch 🐦

This week at Kinderversity Otford we have been learning all about birds and their habitats!

🪶 We enjoyed making marks in play dough using natural resources and creating our own habitats

🪶 We learnt about propositions when placing our ducks onto the lake

🪶 We made our own bird feeders and hung them in the outside in our garden

🪶 We enjoyed getting messy when creating our own birds nests!

💡 Did you know that there are over 10,000 different species of birds!

🐉🐰 Chinese New Year 🐉🐰

This week at Kinderversity Otford we have been celebrating the start of Chinese New Year!

🇨🇳 We wore red and rabbit themed clothes as this year is the year of the rabbit!

🇨🇳 We enjoyed some yummy food tasting, we had chicken noodles and prawn crackers.

🇨🇳 We developed our fine motor skills by using chopsticks to pick up loose parts!

🇨🇳 We enjoyed using cardboard boxes to create our very own dragon.

🇨🇳 We enjoyed using paper and lollipop sticks to create traditional Chinese fans.

🚜🌾 On The Farm! 🌾🚜

This week at Kinderversity Otford we have been exploring and learning about farms and what animals we would find at the farm…

In Preschool-

🐑 We had lots of fun using cotton wool to create sheep, we learnt that their wool is used for clothes that help us to stay nice and warm!

🥛 We learnt about where milk comes from and what we can use it for, we had lots of fun milking the cows udders to pour our own jugs of milk… even if we did get very messy!

🌾 We enjoyed exploring farm produce and learning about how they grow. Using various materials we placed them within shapes.

🚜 All Aboard! Using the cars we pretended to be farmers plowing the fields!

In Babies-

🐄 Using different shaped objects and black paint we created our very own cows, we explored the shapes circle and square!

👩‍🌾 Using hay we explored a sensory bin and dug very deep to rescue the farm animals!

🪵 We enjoyed creating barns using wood and logs, balancing the animals on top of them!

🚜 Using tractors we explored mark making by pushing them through paint and then rolling them over paper!

✈️ 💭 Imagination is the beginning of creation 💭 ✈️

This week two of our preschools built their very own aeroplane. They did this independently by using construction materials, loose parts and their imaginations!

🎅🎄Feeling Festive! 🎄🎅

This week was our last week of term and we have been very busy…

✨ We have been creating our own Christmas biscuits, they were very yummy!

✨ We loved using cotton wool and paints to create our very own Santa’s

✨ Using lollipop sticks we constructed our own reindeers

✨ We enjoyed getting very messy when creating our own Christmas reefs!

✨ We demonstrated great fine motor skills when using scissors to cut out icicles!

❄️🌨 Winter 🌨❄️

To begin our Christmas activities, Last week at Kinderversity Otford we explored the theme ‘Winter’.

🧊 We explored new ways of mark making by freezing ice cubes containing water and food colouring, we then used the ice cubes to make marks… they felt very cold!

🧊 We created an artic snow scene using flour and conditioner. We learnt about what animals live in the artic and enjoyed stamping their footprints through the snow.

🧊 Lastly in preschool we enjoyed sounding out the letters in our names and writing them into the snow tray!
