The European Day of Languages (EDL) is celebrated across Europe on the 26th of September every year.

It aims to promote the rich linguistic diversity of Europe and raise awareness of the importance of lifelong language learning for everyone.

It was set up by the Council of Europe and was first celebrated in 2001.

In our classes this week we have learned about this and shared ideas on how to celebrate such as cooking a dish from another country, make a celebratory poster, try to speak a different language all day, learn how to say hello and goodbye in as many as 24 officials European languages!!

Why not celebrate with your children , and use this opportunity to raise the profile of languages in life!

📣 Success stories

We love to receive feedback, pictures and videos of practicing at home the language they are learning with us!

Look at this little cuty practicing her Spanish counting and showing off to her mum! She only joined us back in June!

Her mum has been telling us that she keeps sharing her learning at dinner time and teaching other members of the family!

Who said language learning is boring!! Look at that smile!

🇫🇷 Fête Nationale Française 🇫🇷

14th July is the French National Day of France!

The French National Day is the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789 a major event of the French Revolution as well as the Fête de la Fédération that celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790.

Celebrations are held throughout France. One that has been reported as "the oldest and largest military parade in Europe" is held on 14 July on the Champs-Élysées in Paris in front of the President of the Republic, along with other French officials and foreign guests.

There is also lots of village parties & fireworks!

Did you know that the Eiffel Tower was erected in 1889 to mark the 100th anniversary of 🇫🇷 ❗️

I have been teaching A. since March 2021. She loves her French lessons. She always asks questions and is always very interested!

I was so happy when her mum sent this French minibook she did on her own! She has used a lot of vocabulary we have learned in the last few months!

I teach A. and her brother! The parents don't know any French but I must say I am so pleased the parents are putting their kids learning another language!

A. tu travailles très bien! Continue comme ça!

Note: We teach French, German, Italian, Spanish & Portuguese! You, as a parent don't need to know the language but the great benefits is that you can learn with your child and bond at the same time!
