I started my confidence and coaching business on the back of the end of my second maternity leave 2019 and at the start of lockdown 2020. I wanted to move away from teaching to, understandably, have more time with my children who were very little. I had some amazing experiences and clients. My skills as a teacher and pastoral leader were my basis and a wonderful resource. However, the following year after starting coaching I lost my beloved mother. It’s been the hardest thing I’ve endured. In fact I doubt I will ever fully recover. Prior to this I grieved for my darling father and brother. I do still have a huge loving family. I’m thankful. There are 2 sisters, 2 brothers, husbands, wives, nieces, nephews, cousins et al. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful children. Some very close and kind friends. But my confidence and anxiety was off the scale, along with age related hormonal changes. So I paused and slowly took the foot of the pedal of my business. I couldn’t practice what I preached. I turned inwards, the opposite of communication & confidence. I continued to work part time as a drama teacher directing and producing performances and working with a great array of students. I acted well.

Obviously I had some great clients in that time but I did not feel like I was a completely authentic coach. I felt like I was hiding from myself.

This year I decided I needed to change things up and I have a new role starting in September. It will be full time. It will be a fantastic opportunity.

So I have decided to close this account and close the chapter on my business….Perhaps once my heart has healed a little more I will be able to work with clients one to one again with greater clarity. Perhaps there’s a different coaching pathway here…

I’m not sure why my insta ain’t connecting with Facebook but I guess that’s why I’m not a social media guru!!! Send help. Ha!

I just want to shout at the moment about the need to tackle low mood, low self esteem and low confidence. I’m not saying it’s easy to become confident but it’s easier to stay on the sidelines wishing and hoping for better things. If you have a toolkit, a plan of action, a set of realistic goals then you can and will achieve. Too many women hold themselves back and to be honest I’m sick of women, young women, mums apologising for themselves. I do it too. Why do you say sorry and apologise when quite frankly you do not need to??!!!! Apologising for oneself is total BS!!!! Let’s rise above it. Let’s raise up women who have strength. At what point in life do you say I’m sick of apologising for myself? I’m not saying I’m the knowledge on positivity and confidence but I will not accept women apologising for things beyond their control.....just saying! Try not saying sorry. Just for a day. See what happens! This inherent culture can do one! Now is the time.....XxX

What an absolutely beautiful and truthful quote. Shakespeare. Twelfth Night. Recently I’ve really noticed in my work coaching and mentoring that there are so many young women who doubt themselves and hold themselves back from achieving. I find it quite alien now I’m the more experienced in life but also when I was younger if I was told no or you’ll never...it made me push harder...now it seems that lack of self confidence and low self esteem seems to go hand in hand with being a younger female. Why are we taught to do this from such a young age? Where does this “no can do”attitude come from? It’s nonsense. Hi everyone! It’s such a while since I’ve posted. Life has been oh so busy. For those of you who don’t know me I’m Kirsty. I’m a confidence and communication coach. I’m also a hugely successful drama teacher! I’ve been so immersed in my teaching recently: supporting and mentoring young students! I love this side of my job. It’s been a hard slog hasn’t it? 2020? But I’m thankful for the small wins and the people I’ve met along the way. Coaching might not be your game plan this year but next year it might be something you consider? I’m an excellent listener, a brilliant advocate for women getting what they want and I can always work out SMART goals to help you achieve your destiny. I love the big talk, hate the small talk. Confidence...it is really all about mindset isn’t it? I used to care so much about what people thought about me. Now I couldn’t possibly give one iota! You like me or you don’t. Up to you! I know who I am. I’m 43. Mum to two gorgeous kids. Wife to a hard working messy husband! I love the arts, theatre, dance, music, fashion. I’ve travelled the world, lived in London and had a lot of experiences before having kids! I don’t fit into a box or category and I’d much rather be talking the big talk, not the small talk. I can’t not post on World Mental Health Day...another rocking Shakespeare quote. I believe Caesar to Cleopatra..(coming attacha!)...so let’s heed the advice - do not listen to the negative thoughts for they will keep you locked up and holding back from achieving! The world is such a strange place at the moment but being strong mentally will help you to break the chains of doom...This week I’ve struggled - real highs, real lows but it is my mindset that directs the course of my fate.
