A coat is just a coat. Until you know the child who wears it. ❤️

Every child has their own story. Their own interests, talents, quirks and ambitions. And at Giggleswick Prep School, we take the time to get to know each child, celebrate what makes them unique and help them discover what they're capable of.

Join us for our Prep School Open Morning on Friday 6 November, where you can explore the school, meet our teachers and experience a little of everyday life at Giggleswick.

Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award 2026

We are delighted to be able to reveal that Tess (Year 10) has been announced as one of this year’s winners of the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award. With over 11,000 entries from 150 countries, Tess’s poem was chosen as one of 100 poets who will have their work published in an online anthology.

This highly prestigious, global competition is an opportunity for young poets aged 11-17 to launch and accelerate their writing careers.

Tess attended an awards ceremony at the British Library, where the winners were announced. Tess will also receive ongoing support and encouragement from The Poetry Society through opportunities for publication, performance, writing development and networking.

Head of English, Karen Peacock commented, "With such fierce competition, to be selected by the judges as one of the top 100 is a truly world-class achievement."

On Monday, we welcomed representatives from North Yorkshire and the Regional Cyber Crime teams to school for a Cyber Crime Escape Room with our Year 9 and 10 pupils. 🔐

Taking part in the Metropolitan Police challenge, pupils had 30 minutes to work through a series of puzzles and challenges to access important documents and solve the case. ⏱️

Of the 11 teams taking part, three successfully completed the challenge within the time limit. Alice, Betsy, Charlotte and Mia (Y10) finished in first place with a time of 18 minutes 40 seconds, breaking the existing record by 20 seconds. 🏆The previous record had been set by Cyber Crime professionals.

Alongside the challenge, pupils learned more about protecting themselves and their data online, as well as the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and how to avoid committing offences under the legislation.

Reception enjoyed their first school trip of the year alongside Mill House Pre-school, exploring the Room on the Broom trail at Gisburn Forest. They helped Witch find her missing hat, bow and wand, collecting spell ingredients along the way! 🌳🧹✨

A lovely day of woodland discovery, storybook magic and adventures with friends. 🖤

They now progress to the North East Regional Final in November, joining our Senior Boys and Girls teams. Well done to all our runners on a fantastic team effort. 👏

A full Chapel, music to lift the spirits and so much to be thankful for. 🍂🖤

Last week, our Prep School community came together for a beautiful Harvest Festival, with heartfelt readings from our Pupil Leaders, uplifting songs and lovely performances from our Prep School, alongside our Senior School Choir.

Thank you to our pupils and families for their generous donations to Settle and Skipton Food Banks, and to everyone who joined us to celebrate.

A special reminder of the kindness within our community and the difference we can make together. 🌾

From day to night. No two days are the same at Gigg. Here’s what just one could hold. 🕰️

A broad curriculum, inspiring facilities and over 100 co-curricular activities give pupils the space and resources to explore their interests, discover new strengths and develop their ambitions.

Small classes and a close-knit community mean teachers know each child. Their interests, their strengths and when they need a little extra encouragement.

For boarders, that sense of community continues into the evening, with activities, time with friends and the support of their House team. Full and flexible boarding options suit different family routines, while day pupils share in House life too.

There’s plenty more to discover. Arrange a visit to see Gigg for yourself:
