So. Is it a superfood? Probably not! It’s classified as a UPF, and is very high in salt… but! It’s also packed with B Vitamins, minerals and protein, and is low in fat, sugar and calories. I 🤎🤎🤎it! And yes, it will be making an appearance in one of this terms recipes… Thankyou so much Rowan for my book, possibly the best leaving pressie ever! What side of the Marmite fence do you sit on? 😍 or 🥴

Literally, that’s it! Sliding disgracefully into semi retirement now, cut back from 10… have however added BIRTHDAY PARTIES back into the mix, check my availability early! And don’t tell anyone but….. Christmas is coming… 👩🏼‍🍳😍🎅🏻

My happy place! Just sat, in a deckchair, watching my adult sized kid throughly enjoying herself on the hay bales. Dogs are chilled, , and getting lots of fusses, we’ve nothing to do except sit and watch and listen. Kids everywhere doing everything! At least 50 activities, broken into zones, a brilliant set up, well worth the entry fee to Clumber Park, and when they get bored of this bit (unlikely!), off you go for a lap of the lake, or a play in the woods, with an ice cream at the end. We’ll be here till the rain makes us go! Highly recommend. 👩🏼‍🍳🙂

Who knows someone special who loves a) trains b) Lego and c) would benefit from a quiet time session…. Barrow Hill Roundhouse Railway Centre have got it sorted this Bank Holiday!

We're on the final count down to the first ever Bricks in the Roundhouse Show, taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend on 29 and 30 August.

We are celebrating the 60th anniversary of Lego© Trains with designs from every era, and the largest number of railway-themed displays ever seen at a UK bricks event. In total, there will be 43 different displays with themes including Harry Potter, Star Wars, Disney and Ted Lasso, some of which have never been seen on the brick exhibition circuit before. The displays, including one more than 100 feet in length, will be set up around the Roundhouse site, creating an atmospheric and unique backdrop for the show,

Tickets are available from https://www.seetickets.com/tour/bricks-in-the-roundhouse-2026 and there will also be plenty of tickets available on the gate on both days.

While the tickets are split into entry at 10am, 12noon and 2pm (quiet session), there is no required exit time until the show closes at 4pm each day, so there is plenty of time to enjoy everything on display including train rides, a display of steam rollers, lots of special event competitions and all those fantastic layouts!

Not THAT exciting right? Wrong! If you attend one of my classes The List is constantly requested! I give out an attendance prize every 10 classes….usual stuff… bronze, silver, gold medals, wizard whisks, super spoons and such. But these.. wonderful, marvellous, magical Sporks are THE most coveted… sitting on the list at number 80, they’re well within reach! 👩🏼‍🍳😉

So many ways I could have gone with these! Adding cocoa powder to the dough, fresh cherries, additional cream, but I’m going old school. Trad, never goes wrong recipe, good old glacé, and doubling up on the choc chips. It’s the skills and confidence I want to build, a recipe to definately keep for life! 👩🏼‍🍳😍
