Selsey Community Nursery was founded by a voluntary group of parents following closure of the existing nursery. Our vision is to provide a flexible childcare facility to meet the needs of the community run by the best childcare professionals in the area and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to the highest possible standard. The nursery offers outstanding care for children, it nurtures them, challenges them and helps them develop to their maximum ability. Various outside activities are on offer including dance classes, visits from the book bus and beach school for our pre school room to engage children in an environment that excites them and engages them. Our on site cook delivers two nourishing hot meals a day, a lunch and high tea. The nursery has three rooms, Under 2's, 2-3 year olds, and our pre school room for 3-4 year olds. The pre school room develops children ready for the transition to school and engages with all the local schools to ensure that the transition goes as smoothly as possible. Holiday club for 4-11 year olds is offered during the school holidays and continues our aims of engaging children and developing them through fun activities. The club offers outings, sports activities and various craft activities.

This week our little helpers have been walking to East Beach and taking part in The Great British Beach Clean 🌊☀️

On our walk, we saw lots of exciting things, including swans, a birds nest, remote control boats in the pond and Chichester council out litter picking too. We spoke to one of the volunteers and she said that there isn’t much litter on the beach, which is ✨ AMAZING ✨.

We spoke about how important it is to keep rubbish in the bins and to keep our planet clean and safe 🗑️ 🌍

Well done to our SCN team 💙❤️💛

Yesterday the children (and staff!) had a fantastic day having lots of fun for Pirate Day!

There were lots of treats and tricks being rustled up in the pirate cafe by the little pirates. 🍳

So much treasure was hunted throughout the day in sand, rice and around the garden on a treasure hunt! 💎

We had some crafty pirates making their own treasure chests, creating colourful parrots and sketching out their own tricky maps for us to follow. 🗺️

All the children had great fun using their fine and gross motor skills filling and pouring, squeezing playdough and walking the plank in the garden!

Until next year...Arrrr!
