The U14 rugby team had a great friendly game against Jedburgh on the back pitch at Selkirk. Thanks to Jedburgh for coming along. Some good rugby from both teams. Final score was 58-36.

DYW have secured a small number of places for pupils in the borders to attend the Kelso Ram Sales - Friday 11th of September 2026 from 10am.

• Aimed at S5/S6 pupils who are taking Higher or Advanced Higher Sciences.
• Businesses will deliver talks to the students focusing on veterinary medicine/pharmaceuticals, animal nutrition, data, and technology in livestock farming.
• After the short talks, students will be free to look around the sale and see the auctioneers in action.
• Lunch is not provided but there are food stands there – students can bring money for these if they wish to.

The Ram Sales is the largest in Europe and an amazing spectacle. This would be a brilliant offer for anyone considering a career as a Vet, Animal Science/Nutrition, Pharmaceuticals, Biology, Data & Technology etc.

Another glorious summer evening down at the Rugby Club. Lot of fun and hard work on display. There is plenty space for more pupils to join in. Come to School of Rugby in school if you are interested. There are various options available for the girls including non-contact ones.

New S1’s

To help get off to the best possible start, we are inviting our new S1’s to join Steph and John (School Link Workers) on the last day of the holidays, Tuesday 18th August, for some crafts and activities as well as a chance to have one last tour of the school before the new term starts. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about all aspects of school life including how lunches work, where things are etc. Session will run 1pm – 3pm. We hope your young person will be able to join us!

Not long till school starts back. Pre-season training for Rugby has been back for a few weeks now. A fantastic new development are the sessions for girls interested in doing more beyond sessions of School of Rugby for Girls. A very enthusiastic group of girls has started, there is plenty space for more girls to join in the fun. If you are interested speak to any of the girls in the pictures.
This Wednesday there will be a gym session for just girls from 4 to 5pm down at the Rugby Club gym. Tonight the girls had the bonus to be joined by Sarah Murray just back from her time down under. Sarah has played for Scotland U18 women’s development squad and other teams. She will soon head off to Exeter for her studies. It was very special for the girls to meet this fantastic role model. Thanks Sarah.
