Our Year 5/6 children had a fantastic time visiting Selby High School today for a brilliant football session delivered by coaches from York City FC! ⚽🙌

The children developed their football skills, worked together as a team and enjoyed the opportunity to experience sport in a secondary school setting.

A huge thank you to Selby High School and York City FC for welcoming us and providing such a fun and engaging session. Our children represented our school brilliantly – we are very proud of them! 💙👏

Our reception children are learning about the changes we see in autumn this week. After an autumn walk in our school grounds, they have explored the beautiful autumn leaves with playdough and relief printing. 🍁🍂

🤒Too Sick for School?

We know it can sometimes be difficult to decide whether your child is well enough to come to school.

The NHS “Too Sick for School?” guidance below is a useful reminder of when children should stay at home and when they can still attend school with common childhood illnesses.

Good attendance is so important for children’s learning, friendships and wellbeing, so if your child is well enough to attend, please send them into school. Equally, when they are genuinely unwell, we want them to have the time they need to rest and recover.

Please take a look at the guidance below and keep it handy for future reference. 💙

As always, if you are unsure, please contact the school office for advice.

📸 A small change to our social media

You may notice a slight change to the photographs we share on our school social media page.

Going forward, we have made the decision not to show children’s faces on social media. We still want to share all the wonderful things happening in school, so you’ll continue to see plenty of photographs of learning, activities, achievements and special events — they’ll simply be taken in a way that keeps children’s faces out of view.

This is part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding children and protecting their digital footprint as they grow up.

We know how much our families enjoy seeing what the children have been getting up to, and we’re looking forward to continuing to share lots of snapshots of school life — just in a slightly different way. 💛

Thank you, as always, for your support and understanding.

💚A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Macmillan Coffee Morning!

School was a hive of excitement, and it was wonderful to see so many of our families coming together to support such an important cause.

Thank you so much for all of your incredibly generous donations of cakes, buns and treats, as well as your cash and card donations.

We are just collating all of the cash and card donations and will share our grand total raised with you very soon.

Thank you, as always, for your amazing support of our school community. 💚🍰☕
