🎒 Back to School – Wednesday 3rd September 💚

We’re really looking forward to welcoming all of our children and families back to St Chad’s on Wednesday for the start of a brand-new school year! 🌟

We’re also especially looking forward to welcoming all of the children and families who are joining St Chad’s for the first time. Starting a new school is a big step, and we hope it won’t be long before you feel very much part of our St Chad’s family. ❤️

We know that the start of a new school year can bring a mixture of feelings. Some children will be excited and counting down the days, while others may be feeling a little nervous or unsure — and that is perfectly natural.

The poster below has some lovely, simple ideas to help children feel confident, prepared and ready for their return. Small things such as getting back into bedtime routines, talking together about what they are looking forward to, and preparing bags and uniforms can all help make the transition into school a little easier.

Most importantly, reassure your child that it is perfectly natural to feel a little unsure. We will be ready to welcome every child, help them settle into their routines and make the start of the new school year a happy and positive one.

We can’t wait to see everyone coming through the gates on Wednesday and to begin another exciting year together.

🙏 Here’s to a happy, successful and blessed new school year for our whole St Chad’s family.

See you Wednesday! 💚🌟

We know the school holidays can be an expensive time for families, so we wanted to share this helpful guide to some of the restaurants and cafés offering free or low-cost children’s meals over the summer.

Please remember that offers can vary by location and may change, so it’s always worth checking with the venue before you visit!

As we head into our final week of the school year, we’re taking a moment to look back at another fantastic week at St Chad’s.

It has been a week packed with exciting opportunities and memorable moments. Our children challenged themselves at Baggeridge Challenge Academy, enjoyed an amazing day exploring Hoo Zoo, and wowed us all in two fantastic talent shows, where children from Nursery through to Year 6 took to the stage with confidence, creativity and courage.

We also celebrated our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Sports Day, with children showing great determination, resilience and enthusiasm as they took part in a range of events. It was wonderful to see everyone giving their best and enjoying the occasion.

As another incredible school year draws to a close, we’re looking forward to making a few more extra special memories in the coming week. 💚

What a wonderful morning we had at our Nursery and Reception Sports Day! 🌟

For many of our youngest children, this was their very first Sports Day, and they all approached it with such enthusiasm, determination and big smiles. It was lovely to see them taking part in each activity, cheering on their friends and celebrating every achievement along the way.

A huge thank you to all of our families who came along to support and encourage the children. Your cheers and applause helped make the morning even more special.

Well done to all of our Nursery and Reception children – we are so proud of you all! 💚❤️

☀️ Stay Safe Around Water during the heatwave 💙

With the hot weather continuing, many families may be heading to beaches, rivers, lakes, canals or paddling pools to cool off.

Please help keep everyone safe by remembering and reminding children of these simple water safety tips:

💦 Children should always be supervised around water.
💦 Never jump into rivers, lakes, canals or reservoirs – the water can be much colder and deeper than it looks.
💦 If you fall into water unexpectedly, remember to Float to Live – lie on your back, keep your ears submerged, spread your arms and legs, and try to relax until you can control your breathing.
💦 If someone is in trouble, call 999 (tel:999). Don’t enter the water yourself – encourage them to float and, if it’s safe, throw something that floats.

We hope everyone enjoys the sunshine safely ☀️
