It’s the end of the 2025/26 academic year and time for some goodbyes to the children, parents and grandparents who’ve been part of our Pink Hippo family, some for several years as their families have grown and successive children have moved through 🥹🫶🏼
We celebrated the children moving to ‘big school’ with our traditional graduation picnic, with memories, smiles…and a few tears…and also said goodbye to some of our children who are moving to other settings - and other countries! ✈️🇹🇭
We would like to thank everyone who gave us cards and gifts, it’s very much appreciated and your kind words truly mean the world.
Thank you also for trusting your children’s care to us, we understand how hard it can be to leave your child with people you don’t know, and we hold that responsibility to nurture and protect them at the very core of everything we do.
So, good luck to our children and families ‘flying the nest’, we’ll miss you! 🥰❤️🥰

What a fantastic asset to our town!
We’ve popped up a flyer in our lobby with more information but opening times are the same as ours, weekdays 8am-6pm, so nice and easy to remember. It’s recommended you call them on 01297 20877 before attending to help reduce any waiting times 🤕

The Parent Carer Forum Devon and Family Voice Torbay in collaboration with Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD), are pleased to be funding and delivering a new programme of workshops designed to support families and professionals to better understand neurodiversity.

🚨📚 Pyjamarama alert! 📚🚨
Bedtime stories are magical, however not every child is lucky enough to experience them - so we're taking part in Pyjamarama on Friday 12th June (tomorrow!).
It's all about spending the day in PJs to raise money for BookTrust and help make sure all children have access to books and stories. We'll be having loads of fun wearing our PJs, reading and sharing stories, so come along in your pyjamas and join us!
Finally, it’s not expected but if you’re able to we’d appreciate a small donation to help BookTrust make bedtime magical for all children 💖

Our preschool children (2-4 years) have recently been learning about lifecycles, growth and change by watching our tiny caterpillars undergo their magical metamorphosis into butterflies 🐛🦋
This week Bluey (1), Bingo, Bridget, Green, Muffin, Fairy, Fluffy, Bluey (2!), Elsa and Zena have all emerged - and on Friday it was release day! 🌤️
Unfortunately one of our butterflies emerged with its wings compromised which meant it would not have survived release, so, displaying all the qualities that a Deputy SENDCo should, Sarah differentiated to ensure its best outcomes were met - and has taken it home to live safely, with everything a flightless butterfly could possibly want or need! 🦋🫶🏼🥰
Special thanks also to Rosie, without who’s steady hand transferring the chrysalises onto their platforms there may have not been quite such a successful outcome! 😅🥰

Huge congratulations to our fabulous Deputy Manager Sarah, who spent her Sunday morning running the Bristol Half Marathon instead of having a bit of a lay in…and not only did she finish it, she smashed her predicted time!🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️💪🏼🏅

We have some very positive news to share regarding access to speech, language and communication services for children in the early years! 💖
Over the last few years waiting times have become impossible, with children not receiving the support they need at a time the most impact could be made.
The *Balanced System* is a plan to address that, with no need for a referral and easy access drop in sessions being held around Exeter and East Devon to enable parents to address any concerns when they arise.
