Many parents are told “they’re doing fine in school” — yet home tells a very different story.
ASD and ADHD aren’t always obvious, loud, or disruptive.
For many children, the effort of coping goes unseen until they’re somewhere safe.
If you’ve ever felt dismissed because your child “meets expectations”, this isn’t in your head.
Your observations matter.
And noticing early can make a real difference.

So many parents feel a sense of guilt when SEN Support is mentioned — as if it means something has gone wrong.
In reality, it’s often the first sign that needs are being noticed.
And when support isn’t making a meaningful difference, that tells us something too.
Nothing about this is a judgement.
It’s a process of understanding what helps — and what doesn’t.

So many parents wait until everything feels unbearable before reaching out.
But SEND support is about need, not crisis.
If something doesn’t feel right, that matters.
- You’re allowed to ask questions
- You’re allowed to push for clarity
- You’re allowed to seek support early
