Absolutely delighted for Stevie Wilson after his brilliant 2nd place finish in the Durham County Golf Union Strokeplay Championship. 👏⛳️
Stevie’s been working with me since 2021 and, to be honest, this result doesn’t surprise me. He’s one of those golfers who just keeps turning up, puts the work in, listens, asks questions and, most importantly, trusts what we’re trying to achieve together. He’s a proper grafter.
As a coach, I can pass on my experience and knowledge from playing on tour and everything I’ve learned over the years, but it’s the player who has to go away, put the work in and trust the process. Stevie deserves all the credit because he’s done exactly that.
I’d have loved nothing more than to see him lift the trophy yesterday, but finishing runner-up is a fantastic achievement and another huge step forward.
More importantly, he has taken so much confidence from knowing he can compete at the very top. I don’t think it’ll be long before he’s lifting one of these trophies.
Golf is a game that rewards patience, hard work and resilience. Keep learning, keep believing and keep trusting the process.
Massive congratulations, Stevie. It’s been a pleasure being part of your journey so far, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together over the next few years. The best is still to come. 👏🏆
