๐Ÿ๐ŸŒธ A Day to Remember at the Lincolnshire Show ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ

What an incredible day for our Trent View College students at the Lincolnshire Show!

After months of planning, designing, growing, building and creating, our students proudly showcased The Bee Pantry and our Go to Grow project. From constructing bee hotels and planting pollinator friendly flowers to creating educational displays and speaking with visitors, every element reflected the hard work, dedication and passion of our students.

The judging process was nerve racking at first but our students rose to the challenge! They confidently shared their knowledge, demonstrated their plants, explained their ideas and answered questions from the judges. Watching their confidence grow throughout the day was one of the proudest moments for our staff team. โญ๏ธ ๐Ÿคฉ

We were also delighted to welcome the fabulous
Annie F***y who stopped by our display and helped spread the word about Go to Grow! But the days events donโ€™t stop here.. the students also had opportunities to meet special guests, speak to members of the public, visit BBC Radio Lincolnshire and represent Trent View College with pride and professionalism. We even managed to get a photo with Peter Levy! ๐Ÿ“ท

Whether discussing pollinators, demonstrating herbs and flowers or simply sharing their enthusiasm, our students showed exactly what can be achieved when young people are given opportunities to shine.

We couldnโ€™t be prouder of every single one of them. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ๐ŸŒธ The Bee Pantry is ready! ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ

Today our incredible students from Trent View College completed the installation of The Bee Pantry at the Lincolnshire Show.

From designing and building the hexagonal trellises and bee hotels, to growing and planting a vibrant pollinator-friendly display, this project has been a true team effort. Every element has been created with the aim of supporting pollinators, encouraging biodiversity, and demonstrating how small spaces can make a big difference for wildlife.

The display celebrates the importance of bees and other pollinators, showcasing a rich mix of nectar-rich flowers, bee habitats, water stations, and climbing plants. Alongside the outdoor display, our indoor exhibit shares the studentsโ€™ journey, learning, creativity, and the development of our Go to Grow enterprise project.

We could not be prouder of what our students have achieved. Their dedication, resilience, teamwork, and passion for horticulture have transformed an empty planter into a thriving pollinator haven.

If youโ€™re visiting the Lincolnshire Show, come and find The Bee Pantry and say hello to the Trent View College team! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’œ

โ›บ As promised (but a little later than hoped), here is your update on how our young people got on overnight.

A check-in was made with the college this morning, and we are thrilled to hear that everyone had a fantastic evening setting up their sleep areas. ๐Ÿ•๏ธ The team woke up from their slumber ready for breakfast, raring to go for day 2 at Waters Edge.

Whilst everyone has thoroughly enjoyed themselves and taken on the challenge, we think they might all be ready for their home comforts and their own beds tonight! ๐Ÿ›Œ

Sleep well everyone and a massive well done to all our DofE students! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿš And they're off!

It was all smiles and waves from the Trent View College minibus as our students left the grounds this morning, ready for their exciting Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expedition!

Their first stop of the day was a quick bite to eat under bright skies and lovely sunshine at Clumber Park, before heading off on their 4 mile lakeside walk.

This evening, they'll be tucking into a well earned chip shop dinner before setting up camp for the night at a local scout camp. ๐Ÿ•๏ธ How exciting!

Let's hope the weather forecast stays good for their overnight stay. ๐Ÿคžโ˜๏ธ

We'll be sure to update you all tomorrow with pictures.

๐Ÿ’™ Community Spirit in Action! ๐Ÿ’™
Huge shoutout to our incredible Health and Social Care students who have been going above and beyond while working toward their Duke of Edinburghโ€™s Award!

When our students heard that the Scunthorpe Hospital Central Delivery Suite were in need of toiletries, they didn't hesitate to step up and source and co-ordinate a huge donation.

The CDS team were absolutely thrilled and so grateful for the kindness shown by our students. Itโ€™s amazing to see our students making a real difference in our local community
