Little Breaks Stay & Play For disabled children and their families

Join us for a fun-filled morning of play, activities and smiles!

Meet other families while your child enjoys a range of fun and engaging activities. Our Short Breaks Stay & Play sessions are open to children aged 0–5 living in North Lincolnshire with a disability.

Sessions run monthly
7 September at Henderson Avenue Family Hub, 10am - 11.30am, plus
5 October,9 November, 7 December.

21 September at Brigg Family Hub, 10am - 11.30am, plus 19 October, 23 November.

For the very first time, we’re opening our fields so you can come and Pick Your Own Pumpkins – and yes… we’ve grown some absolutely massive ones this year! 😲🎃

We are pleased to finally be able to share our recent Ofsted grading – Outstanding in all areas.

A couple of bits the report states below 👇

The childminder has identified an ambitious curriculum for all children as she supports every child to achieve their full potential. She creates a child friendly, enticing environment where each child is provided with effective support so that they thrive.

The childminder and the assistants work seamlessly together as they ensure that every child is supported in line with their individual needs and abilities. They enthusiastically introduce new play experiences, which motivate children's active learning.

Thank you to Danielle for working so hard day in, day out – I’m so grateful for your hard work over the last 12 years. Acorns wouldn’t ever be the same without you. Thanks also to the parents, past and present, for such lovely feedback and support, but the biggest shout-out goes to the children we care for – you are all superstars, and we are so proud of you. You showed the inspector what a day at Acorns is like for a child, and she absolutely loved it. 💕

Dump the dummy and the bottle
NHS are running 2 drop in sessions within our Family Hubs on May 23 at Ashby Community Centre, and May 27 in Barton Family Hub to help toddlers, parents/carers to dump the dummy and bottle. They will be on hand to offer tips and advice. Anyone willing to leave dummy and or bottle with them will receive a free book to take home.

FREE Swimming for Kids! 🏊‍♀️

No Easter plans? No problem! Easter Daze FREE swimming is here to keep the kids moving, laughing and making waves this half term! Throughout Easter, children 16 and under can enjoy free swim sessions at NL Active, giving them the perfect excuse to get off the sofa, get active, and enjoy the water!

From playful splashes to perfecting their stroke, this is a great chance to burn off some energy, improve confidence in the water, and have loads of fun while making new friends, and best of all it’s completely FREE!

Kids under 8 will need an adult with them. Adults and children under 8 can grab their tickets on site at reception. If your child is over 8, you will need to secure their Free swimming ticket in advance by visiting👇
