🌿🦉 Wise Owl Nature Explorers! 🦉🌿

Today, our Wise Owl Explorers headed off on a nature walk through the forest, ready for an afternoon of adventure and discovery! 🌳🍂

We searched high and low for all sorts of natural resources, using our senses to explore the wonderful world around us. 👀

👃👂 From the smell of the leaves beneath our feet to the sound of birds chirping high in the trees, there was so much to discover!

🐦 We sang songs about wildlife, enjoyed a lovely al fresco snack, and even had a little play in the park — which we had all to ourselves! 🛝

It was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, develop our senses, build curiosity and connect with nature. 🌱💚

🎉 CELEBRATING OUR AMAZING WISE OWL TEAM! 🎉

Last Friday, we put down the paintbrushes, packed away the paperwork and got together for a very special evening to celebrate the people who make Wise Owl Private Day Nursery what it is — our incredible staff team. 🦉💛

We are enormously proud of the nursery we have created. Our beautiful environment, happy and engaged children, the huge variety of activities taking place every single day, and all the playing, exploring, discovering and learning that happens within our walls doesn’t happen by accident.

It happens because of our staff. ❤️

Their ideas, enthusiasm, creativity and sheer hard work are what bring Wise Owl to life every day — and Friday night was all about saying THANK YOU.

🥂 We started the evening with beautiful catering provided by The Butty Box, before moving on to our staff awards.

There were some very well-deserved 100% attendance awards 🌟 alongside some rather less serious awards… including Charlotte officially being crowned Most Dramatic! 😂🏆

And then things got competitive…

🏆 THE WISE OWL CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES! 🏆

We took some childhood classics and made them LIFE-SIZE!

🩺 Giant Operation
🐴 Buckaroo
🧱 Jenga

We genuinely don’t think we have ever heard so much laughter in one room! 😂 The team threw themselves into every game, and it was absolutely hilarious from beginning to end.

There were gifts for our staff too, because sometimes it’s important to stop and remind people just how appreciated they are. 💝

Our lovely team also clubbed together to surprise Kate with a beautiful charm for her bracelet, while Toni presented Kate with a necklace and bracelet set in recognition of everything she does for Wise Owl. 💛

It was an absolutely wonderful night, filled with laughter, friendship and a lot of very questionable competitive behaviour! 😂

But most importantly, it was a celebration of our people.

We feel incredibly grateful — and genuinely humbled — to have such an awesome team.

Wise Owl is nothing without its staff.

Every beautiful area you see, every exciting activity, every new idea and every happy little face is supported by a team of people who care deeply about giving our children the very best experiences they possibly can.

So this one is for them. 🥂

Our toddlers have been heading down under to learn all about Australian crocodiles! 🌏🐊
Using pipe cleaners, the children got creative and twisted, bent and shaped their very own crocodiles, developing those all-important fine motor skills along the way. 💚

Today our little creators became desert designers! 🎨✨

Using Sanddoh, tissue paper, lollipop sticks and cardboard, the children created their very own desert scenes, choosing lots of sandy colours to bring their ideas to life. 🏜️🤎

🌟 Investing in our team, investing in our children 🌟

On Friday, Toni and Kate had a fantastic day at Early Years Up North, spending the day learning, connecting and bringing lots of new ideas back to Wise Owl! 🦉💚

It was a brilliant opportunity to meet and chat with other people from across the Early Years sector and to hear from some truly inspiring and influential speakers.

Throughout the day, we attended talks exploring outdoor play, SEND in Early Years, and the vital role that play has in children’s learning and development, along with many other thought-provoking topics.

We also had the chance to meet lots of Early Years suppliers and discover some fantastic new resources, equipment and ideas for developing our nursery environments. Needless to say, we came away with a rather long wish list! 😄

At Wise Owl Private Day Nursery, we believe that investing in our staff is one of the best ways we can invest in our children. Early Years practice is always developing, and giving our team opportunities to learn, reflect, be inspired and bring fresh ideas back into nursery is incredibly important to us.

Our children deserve enthusiastic, knowledgeable practitioners who are continually developing their skills — and our staff deserve to be supported and invested in too. 💚

A brilliant day full of learning, inspiration and new ideas… now to decide which ones we’re going to introduce first! 🦉✨
