We had a Year One child in today and we did some finding out…. I loved his answer to this question…. He couldn’t tell me what this shape was called but he told me it was half a square 🤩; many of the secondary students I come across struggle to work out the area of a triangle as they have not recognised that a triangle is half a square. Excellent mathematician in the making.
