🎨 Schools Open Exhibition 2026 – final call for submissions!

There’s still time to get your artwork in for our first ever Schools Open Exhibition at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre!

🏆 £100 prize for the winning artwork, generously sponsored by Kip McGrath Scunthorpe Tuition Centre

❗ Submission deadline: Friday 2 October 2026

We’re inviting schools across North Lincolnshire to submit work from their Infant, Primary and Secondary pupils. Home-educated children and young people can also take part! 👨‍🎨

The exhibition is a chance for young artists to see their work displayed in a professional gallery and share their creativity with families, friends and the wider community.

We welcome artwork from all ages and abilities – from first marks and colourful explorations to more developed and conceptual pieces. Selected artworks will be displayed in the gallery, with prizes awarded for stand-out artworks.

🖼️ Exhibition: 10 October – 5 December 2026
🎉 Opening event: Friday 9 October, 4–6pm
❗ Submission deadline: Thursday 1 October

Key dates:
• Artwork delivery: Monday 28 September – Thursday 1 October
• Collection of work: 7–14 December

Submission requirements:
• Work should be delivered to 20-21.
• 2D works (painting, drawing, photography etc.) should be no larger than 50cm square.
• 3D works (sculpture) should be no more than 30cm in any direction.

Meet the Team - Riaz

Riaz joined the team almost a year ago and has worked with a range of primary and secondary students. What Riaz enjoys most about being part of the Kip team is helping students grow in confidence and achieve their goals.

He says, “It is incredibly rewarding to see children develop their skills, overcome challenges, and become more positive about learning. I also enjoy being part of a supportive team that shares a passion for education and makes a real difference in students' lives.”

In his free time, Riaz enjoys eating out and spending quality time with his friends and family. He enjoys trying new places to eat, socialising, and making lasting memories

Riaz’s learning tip is:

Don't be afraid to make mistakes… have a go! Mistakes help your brain learn and improve, so treat them as opportunities rather than setbacks.

🖼️With the return of 20-21’s famous Open Exhibition, we couldn’t just let the adults have all the fun, so we’re delighted to announce our first Schools Open Exhibition!

🫟We are inviting North Lincolnshire’s Infant, Primary, and Secondary schools to take part in this special exhibition at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre.

🎨We want to celebrate the imagination, creativity, and unique perspectives of young people. It offers students the exciting opportunity to see their artwork displayed in a professional gallery space and shared with the wider community.

Does your child get enough sleep?

Children need 10-12 hours of sleep per night whilst teenagers need 8-10 hours per night.

To help- try the following:

1. Have a regular bedtime
2. Make sure the room is at a comfortable temperature
3. Make sure the lighting or lack of lighting is sufficient
4. Limit electronic devices an hour before sleep
5. Take a bath
6. Read a book or an audio book
7. Use a comfortable pillow.

Our Year 6 students are almost at the end of their 11 plus journey with final exams being sat in the next few weeks. Here is Betsy at our recent mock exam workshop. We wish them all every success and look forward to hearing from them soon.
