It’s the final countdown! Two weeks today I will be up in the hills putting my body through the ultimate test. 100km non stop hiking in some of the toughest conditions. Scorching heat, pi***ng down rain, with climbs of up to 450m at some points! Fatigue kicks in, mental and physical ability and agility are all tested!
Pain running up through your feet into your legs, through your knees into your hips and spine as you get into the latter stages! It’s a case of mind over matter to see you through to the end.
Imagine having hiked 80km (50miles), been moving for almost 18 hours then having to climb to heights of 350m up rock and undulated terrain, smashing your feet and muscles to pieces because they’re already like concrete!
Why am I doing this you may ask! I’m doing it to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, to support the amazing work this charity undertake, and raise awareness of the support they can provide when it’s really needed.
I need you all to help me, and get behind me, by showing your support to get me through to the end.
I am always the first to give generously and support charities, local businesses, fundraisers, local sports teams, clubs, and much more!
Please show your support for me. On the day I will be keeping people posted of my progress and documenting the torture I will be enduring.

Good evening fellow Facebook connections, friends and colleagues.
In July I will be taking on the 100km Peak District ultra challenge in support and to raise funds for the British heart foundation.
This is a continuous 100km hike across the peaks through the day and night, whatever the weather, and is set to challenge the mind body and soul!
Most of the distance will be paced, some will be jogged, some I may run, some I may drag myself up through pure grit and determination!!
With your support I will definitely ensure I finish within the 24hour time period.

Well I’ve signed myself up again and now the training is really kicking in. I’ve been here before and it really wasn’t pretty! This time I’m doing it to try and beat my time! I want to raise as much money as I can to help a great cause the British heart foundation.

Weekend Preview:

All three of our senior teams are scheduled to be back in action this weekend, fingers crossed the weather is kind to us and we can get out on the field 🤞

Our 1st team will kick off the Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League campaign with a trip to Whitley Hall Cricket Club tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow's hosts finished 6th in the ECB YCSPL last summer and will provide a stiff opening day test for Alex Grimes' side. Seam bowler Jacob Wainman is in line to make his competitive debut for the Steelmen after making the move from Haxey CC during the winter. Elsewhere, the core of our side remains the same, including veterans Matthew Morland & Paul Hilton who'll once again be hoping to play key roles with bat & ball respectively.

Meanwhile our 2nd team will also begin their Lincolnshire League Division One season tomorrow when Cherry Willingham CC make the trip to Brumby Hall. Last summer, only nine points separated ourselves from tomorrow's opponents, when the latter finished a place higher in 5th spot. Jack Forrester will officially begin his reign as our 2nd team captain and has named a similar side to the one which finished last season. After enjoying a successful first season with the club, we're looking forward to seeing how young all-rounder Liam Sylvester continues his development over the course of the 2023 season. Tomorrow's match at Brumby Hall will be kindly sponsored by DN Assessments Ltd and will begin at 1pm.

George Forrester will lead our 3rd team for the first time as we begin our North Lindsey League Division One campaign at home to Scunthorpe Town Cricket Club on Sunday afternoon. 1:30pm start at Brumby Hall.
