🍎 One for the September checklist: allergy awareness.

There are lots of things to think about before heading back to school, but this year there's an important change everyone working in education should be aware of.

From September 2026, new statutory allergy safety guidance comes into force for schools in England, strengthening how allergies and anaphylaxis are managed in schools.

And allergy awareness isn't just relevant to teachers or first aiders 💚

A serious allergic reaction could happen in the classroom, playground, corridor or dining hall, so understanding what to look for and how to respond matters for everyone working within a school.

Today we're celebrating 5 years of Emma Horton at Castle Education! 💚🎉

Over the past five years, Emma has had an incredible journey, growing from Talent Consultant to Recruitment Consultant, and now into her role as Business Manager.

Throughout that time, she's built fantastic relationships with schools across Yorkshire, become a trusted recruitment partner to so many education settings, and consistently achieved some of Castle's best-ever results. Her passion for supporting both schools and education professionals shines through in everything she does.

Emma's knowledge of the education sector, commitment to delivering a great experience and genuine care for the people she works with have made a huge impact, not only on our clients and candidates, but on our team too.

GCSE Results Day is here! 💚

To every young person across Yorkshire opening their results today, a huge well done from all of us at Castle Education 🍎

Whatever those grades say, getting to this point is something to be proud of.

For many of you, today will make the next step feel very real. That might mean starting sixth form, heading to college, beginning an apprenticeship or choosing another route that's right for you.

And if your results aren't quite what you were hoping for? Try not to panic.

Speak to your school, college or sixth form about your options. Ask questions, explore different routes and remember that there is rarely only one way to get where you want to go.

Most importantly, don't let comparison take over today. Your results and your next steps are yours. Someone else's path doesn't need to be yours too 🌱

And once the results, celebrations and decisions are out of the way...

☀️ There's still a little bit of summer left!

Make the most of these final couple of weeks before classrooms, early alarms and new routines return. Spend time with your friends, enjoy the break and get excited about whatever comes next.

A big congratulations to all of this year's GCSE students, and a special thank you to the teachers, support staff and families who've encouraged them along the way 💚

The partnerships we're proudest of go far beyond recruitment 💚

Through our Castle Giving Back initiative, we’re proud to be supporting Doubtfire Creative and their upcoming production project for young people aged 14–21 across Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale 🎭

Our donation will contribute towards their upcoming performance and rehearsal resources, production materials and bursaries for young people who might otherwise face a financial barrier to taking part.

And it’s about much more than putting on a show.

Young people will have opportunities both onstage and behind the scenes, gaining experience in everything from performance and directing to lighting, sound, stage management, marketing and production planning.

Along the way, they’ll be building confidence, friendships and transferable skills, while discovering some of the different careers available within the creative industries.

We see the difference access to the right opportunities can make, so we’re delighted to play a small part in helping DC Next bring this project to life.

To everyone receiving their A-Level results today, congratulations 💚

Whatever is written on that piece of paper or screen this morning, getting to this point is an achievement in itself.

For some of you, today will bring exactly the results you hoped for and an exciting next step.

For others, things might not have gone quite to plan.

If that's you, please remember: your results are important, but they don't define what happens next.

Take some time before making any big decisions. Speak to your teachers, family or someone you trust. If your university plans have changed, talk to the universities themselves and explore Clearing. And don't be afraid to consider a different route entirely.

University isn't the only definition of success. Apprenticeships, employment, further study, a gap year or simply taking some time to work out what you really want can all lead to brilliant careers.

Most importantly, try not to compare your results or next steps with everyone else's today. Your path doesn't need to look like your friends' to be the right one for you 🌱

To every student across Yorkshire receiving results today, and to the teachers, support staff and families who've helped them get here...

Well done. Be proud of how far you've come, and excited about where you might go next 🍎💚
