What a morning! It was so great to see so many students today to collect their GCSE results, and what results they were! Students worked tirelessly to the end, taking advantage of all those extra classes and study sessions, and their hard work has paid off. There were tears, hugs, and smiles all round and students are now ready for their next steps of a-levels, apprenticeships and employment. We couldn't be prouder of this year group, congratulations to all, best results ever!

Tomorrow is GCSE results day. Students can check their results online from 8am, but we'll still be at college, available from 8.30am for anyone who wants to collect in person. Don't forget that if you want to come back to us for 6th form, we must see you tomorrow to discuss option choices.

We were delighted to welcome 6th formers today to collect their exam results, and to celebrate with year 13 leavers their brilliant onward destinations.

Students secured routes with employers including Dyson, Slingsby and Yorkshire Water, while others are progressing into apprenticeships in engineering and design. One student is progressing to the University of Glasgow to study Aerospace Engineering, while another is heading to Newcastle Aviation College to train as an aircraft technician. A number of students are beginning their careers immediately, with destinations including the Royal Navy, healthcare and local employment. One student has secured a role with Scarborough Hospital, providing a fantastic example of a young person progressing directly into the local workforce. Perhaps one of the most distinctive destinations sees a member of the cohort travelling to Thailand to pursue professional kickboxing for Team GB, demonstrating that success after sixth form can take many different forms.

Together, these destinations highlight the breadth of opportunities available to Scarborough UTC students and the Year 13 cohort leaves with a strong foundation of technical knowledge, academic study and employability skills.

Just a reminder that our uniform pop up shop is tomorrow, 10am-2pm. This is an opportunity for new students to swap anything in their uniform bundle that wasn't quite the right size, and pick up any extras they might need. See you there!

Yesterday saw our final trip of they year to the beach, a warm day even if the sun didn't show himself much. Lots of fun had all round, with water guns, races, football and digging in the sand. Have a fantastic summer everyone, and we'll see you again in September!

Today was our end of year rewards assembly and Mr Connell spoke to students about the difference between a momentary prize, and the reward of hard work and commitment, noting that real success and rewards in life come from dedication.
