Hackness Under 5s Playgroup and Forest School is situated in the village hall in the picturesque village of Hackness, just outside Scarborough, and serves the local communities Scarborough, Hackness, Burniston, Cloughton, Scalby, Newby, East & West Ayton and surrounding areas.

🏡 Stay and Play in the hall every Monday
🌳 Stay and Play in the Woods every Friday
9.30am - 11.30am
£2 a child
Includes a fruit snack and the opportunity to see how our hall is set up, how forest school sessions run and to meet some of the team.

Using nature to create fun games 🌳

We used a fallen tree to create a seesaw… it’s a great arm workout for us adults 😂💪🏻

This and the swing up in the den area have been very popular, come let your little ones explore our outdoor classroom and have a go on the equipment at our stay and play sessions in the woods.

It became our go to place after a picnic in the woods through summer.

The children could keep cool in the shade, practise balancing on the uneven ground and trying not to fall over 😂

It was a popular area at our stay and play sessions too… we can’t wait to welcome you back in September.

Earlier in the summer we had a pirate week… Aarrgghh! 🏴‍☠️

We made a map of our woods to find the buried treasure.
This fun activity teaches the children spatial awareness and how to read a map whilst exploring the forest around them.

Come join us in the woods when we return from our summer holidays in September. We have lots of other activities to share in our stay and play sessions.

Does your child enjoy playing outside or would you like your child to have the opportunity to explore forest school? Join us for one of our stay and play sessions in the woods when we start back in September.

We have spaces for 2,3 & 4 years olds to start with us in September, please message to arrange a mini stay and play session to meet some of the staff and explore our wonderful setting.
