Little update regarding our coffee mornings...
These will now take place on the third Monday of each month.

We have put together a list of some other great parent/carer coffee mornings offering support in our area, so give these a try too. Let us know if we have missed anyone off the list.

Havenswood Trust- 11th September, then the first Friday of the month
Carers Plus Yorkshire - 14th September
The Aska Hub C.I.C - 21st September
The Parent Pod Scarborough c.i.c - fourth Friday of the month

We want to say a big THANK YOU to two of our supporters who have made this summer playscheme possible, and so enjoyable!

Firstly, to Woodsmith Foundation for funding all of the craft activities, story sacks, refreshments, room hire, and take-home gifts through their Small Grants fund. This grant ensured that we could plan and carry out themed activities each week that catered for the needs of each child who attended.

And secondly, to Semps for senses for your generous donations, which enabled us to assemble 30 of these fun Discovery Bags for families to enjoy together at home or out and about. ('Semperman' grows and sells sempervivums and donates all of the money to SENSES)

Thank you again from all the SENSES staff, trustees, and families.

We had such a great Family Fun Day! Staff as well as children made giraffe crowns and completed the jungle jigsaw. There were lots of lovely story sack and singing moments throughout the morning along the animal theme, and colouring sheets to fill in. It's hard to imagine that there is only one playscheme session remaining!

Please join us tomorrow at the Oasis Family Centre for another Family Fun Day! This extended session will feature the fabulous Giraffes Can't Dance theme again, plus lot of other familiar activities.

We had a fun morning with these busy boys! There was an animal theme again with the masks to colour and a giant jungle jigsaw, and also a farm to construct within some recently donated duplo. The tool kit came out so that the washing machine could be mended too 😁

We had a very animated playscheme session today with Cheryl from National Literacy Trust Yorkshire Coast! She read, danced and played her way through Giraffes Can't Dance, with the help of some enthusiastic SENSES staff 😁

The children also had the opportunity to make animal masks, and the rain held off long enough for us to enjoy the garden again. We were joined by two new families, and our extended session was a big hit!

Our Family Fun Day at Westway Open Arms tomorrow will be a 3 hour session with stories, music, dancing, and animal-themed activities!

Refreshments will be provided, but feel free to bring additional snacks or a packed lunch for this extended session. Everyone is welcome to stay for the whole 3 hours, or just pop in for a shorter time if that suits your family better.
