WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!! 🏆 We're thrilled to announce that our S6F Darts Team has won the AoC National Darts Championships 2026! 🎉 After a series of intense matches, our team emerged victorious, defeating Kidderminster College 3-2 in the final. We're proud of our team's achievement and can't wait to defend our title next year with our new partnership with Harrows NxTGEN! 💪

On Tuesday 16th June the S6F Darts Team travelled to Hangar61 in Bristol to take on other regional qualifiers in the AoC National Darts Championships. 8 colleges qualified for the finals, with colleges split into 2 pools of 4 to start the day. S6F were drawn in a pool with Barnsley College, St Brendans College and Blackburn College, unfortunately Blackburn withdrew giving S6F a 5-0 w/o victory.
In our opening pool match S6F beat Barnsley College 4-1, students played 501 best of 3 matches in a best of 5 player contest. Oscar Walmsley won 2-1, George Dixon won 2-1, Will Penn won 2-0, Dylan Sugden lost 2-0 and Liam Ward won 2-0. In the final pool game S6F defeated St Brendans 4-1, Walmsley won 2-0, Dixon won 2-1, Penn lost 2-1, Sugden won 2-0 and Ward won 2-0, leaving S6F atop of pool B.
Into the quarter finals, S6F were drawn against the 4th placed team from pool A, Merthyr College. Again a 4-1 victory ensued, Walmsley won 2-0, Dixon won 2-0, Penn lost 2-1, Sugden won 2-0 and Ward won 2-0.
S6F marched on into the semi finals to face the tough test of South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, at this stage the games moved to best of 5. Walmsley kicked off the match well with a 3-1 victory, Dixon followed in with a 3-1 victory, Penn and Sugden both fell to 3-1 defeats and then with the game sat at 2-2 all eyes turned to Liam Wards' game... Wardy showed calmness under pressure running out a 3-1 winner securing an overall 3-2 victory for S6F, on to the final!
Kidderminster College had also made serene progress through to the final, however they had not faced the S6F lads yet! Walmsley got the S6F boys off to a flyer with a 3-0 win, soon followed by Penn who wrapped up a 3-1 win, defeat followed for Ward 3-1, but not long after that George Dixon fired in the winning double to win 3-1 and put the match beyond Kidderminster's reach. Sugden ended up losing 3-1, meaning the final score was 3-2 to S6F.
