What’s your thoughts? Are you a professional involved in multi agency working?

I’m involved in some presentations, talks and Q&A sessions at York St John’s Uni today and a focus of this is the importance of multi agency working, its pros, it’s cons and how it can be such an important tool.

Are you involved in sport?

We work with a number of different sports clubs and are planning some sport specific safeguarding training.

Thrive Beyond are putting together not only a training package but also a community of support. We will meet every half term and there will be the option for it to be online or face to face. There will be opportunity for training and awareness sessions to up skill and keep up to date with current trends and concerns.

Some of the feedback we have had already is that a lot of the time staff in sport need more support with the safeguarding role and there are not enough links with professionals within safeguarding to support these volunteers 🧡

What you can and can’t do with child sexual abuse data:

You can use it to:
• Get a sense of how many children experience abuse.
• Say how many cases are reported and recorded by services.
• Identify common characteristics of victims and perpetrators.

You can’t use it to:
• Say exactly how widespread abuse is.
• Assume reported cases reflect total prevalence.
• Suggest only certain children are affected.
• Claim only certain people commit abuse.

Let’s use data responsibly to protect and support all children.
