Are you an experienced technician with a background in laboratory work? Could you help support the next generation of scientists and engineers? 👩‍🔬👨‍🔧

S6F is looking for a Technician (Physics and Engineering) to provide high-quality technical and administrative support to staff and students across our Physics and Engineering curriculum.

✨ What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting practical work across Physics, Engineering and Applied Science
• Working alongside teachers and our Science Technician
• Supporting students with their study assignments
• Helping maintain safe and effective laboratory working practices
• Organising and managing technical resources

📍 Scarborough Sixth Form College
🕐 Permanent | 15 hours per week
💷 Approx. £6,047 p.a. pro rata
🚀 Professional development opportunities available

We’re looking for someone with relevant laboratory experience, strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach.

Whatever your GCSE results, come and speak to us about your options. Our friendly team will be here to support you, talk through your plans and help you choose the study programme that’s right for you. 💙

👋 This student came along to enrol on their own — but you don’t have to! You’re very welcome to bring a parent, carer or friend with you for support.

📍 Already applied? Check your applicant portal or enrolment letter for your appointment time.

Not yet applied? 👀 We have drop-in sessions from 11am–2pm on both enrolment days. Applying in advance will help speed up the process.

✨ Remember to bring:
• Your GCSE results
• Your enrolment letter + code
• Your bridging work

📱 New students will also receive an iPad to use throughout their time at college.

And if your results didn’t go to plan — don’t panic! There are lots of options available, and our team is here to help you find the right path.
