Scarborough Children's University

Scarborough Children's University Scarborough Children's University is led by Richard Adams, an outreach worker who works with children and young people across the North East of England.

Initially piloted in close consultation with local headteachers, Scarborough Children's University works with our Primary Partnership schools in the Scarborough area from Whitby in the north to Filey in the south, and these schools choose the modules to be delivered. Children collect learning credits for this participation, recorded in personal Learning Passports, and they can also gain credits fr

om validated Learning Destinations across the UK (see http://www.childrensuniversity.co.uk/). With sufficient credits, children graduate at ceremonies held annually at the University of Hull, Scarborough Campus in the presence of parents and invited dignitaries. Local Learning Destinations include, Scarborough Art Gallery, Rotunda Museum, Yorkshire Coast Homes 'Playdays', Scarborough Library, Whitby Abbey, Living Seas Centre and many more.
