Keeping cool on this beautiful sunny day ☀️

Our children had so much fun throwing and catching them until they went POP and of course we had fun splashing in the pool 🏊‍♂️

Today at nursery everyone has been outside enjoying the sunshine!☀️☀️
The children in The Hummingbird Room have been busy with plenty of outside activities, but they’ve been most excited about all the water play we’ve got going on today💧💧
This has been a great way to ensure the children stay at a nice cool temperature during this hot weather🧊☀️
After lots of play, the children enjoyed their snack in the shade with plenty to drink🥛🧃

Another friendly reminder to pack your children…

Parent Notice ⚠️

As we are expecting lots of sunshine next week please can we politely remind all parents/carers to pack your child's bag with sun cream, a sun hat, a water bottle and weather appropriate clothing which covers the shoulders including some spares.

We will be having lots of water play out in the garden so if you would like to pack a swimsuit/swim nappies and a towel it would be greatly appreciated. ☀️

This week in pre-school, we have had such an amazing week, we have become scientists and explored how things work,

We have explored with magnets and discovered that lots of objects around our room are magnetic 🧲

We have been guessing what objects may float and which ones will sink,

I gave the children a task to see if they could make the boats move without touching them along with a straw, 🛶⛵️
The children suggested blowing and got so excited when they achieved the task 😊

We also watched our very own paper caterpillar 🐛 grow when we added some water, the children found this fascinating,

We also experimented with tissue and dyed water to make the water walk up the paper to meet the next colour in the test tube, this, we found very fiddly but sort of worked,

Also this week we have discovered that mixing water and oil with a little bit of food colouring made a lava lamp 🫧

Some of our older children have said ‘ I like doing science week ‘ 😊🧲🧫🔬🧪😃

It’s coming home! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

To celebrate the start of the World Cup and England’s first match of the competition we will be having a World Cup Day at Nursery on Wednesday 17th June. We will be doing lots of football themed activities including a football match in the garden! Dress your child in red and white or any football top/kit, if you’re little one doesn’t attend on Wednesday’s feel free to wear your football kits all week! ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
