Polite Notice..

Despite the weather now taking a turn we are still spending lots of time outside in the garden. Please could we kindly ask parents/carers to provide their little ones with a coat, a puddle suit and wellies and at least one pair of spare clothes including some socks.

Welcome to the Autumn Term in pre-school 🍂🍁

Wow what a great start to the new term,

We have had some new starters in pre-school, so as always we kick off our topics with all about me.

* We have discussed all about our families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦,
* and who we live with in our homes 🏠
* We spoke about our pets
* We explored our reflections in the mirror , we have discovered that we are all different in height, size, skin colour, eyes colour, hair colour and we are all different ages, we also put our fine motor skills to use, by putting features into place then cutting the hair of our creation, we have spoken about our emotions and if we are feeling happy 😊 sad 😢 angry 😡 or calm.

we answered questions like ‘ who lives in your home .🏠👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

CONSTRUCTION

Our children seemed to really enjoy this topic,
We have had comments off some of our parents to say that their little ones have gone home and discussed what we have done throughout their day, 😁🚧🚜
We have been super busy building our own creations 🧱we have had so many creative suggestions ☺️

While in the garden our children used the materials around them to create a structure, when asked the children informed me that they were building a car 🚗 with super fast wheels 🛞
We also created a castle 🏰 using the tyres in the garden, the children then wanted to read a story 📚so we read a story about a knight 🗡️

One of our activities, we had to make lots of choices on how we could get our ducks to the other side of the ocean 🌊 🦆 we had a huge lots of open ended questions about what creatures we would find in the oceans, 🦈🐬🐙🪼
We also asked what would happen if our ducks went swimming in the water…
We also asked how we could get them across without swimming….

Some of our children suggested that we use a boat ⛴️, which was a fabulous idea,
We looked high and low for a boat 🚤 but we could not find one..🤔
So I asked the children what they thought we could build 🤓🧱we weren’t too sure to start with, then we asked the children what the 3 billy goats crossed, and immediately our children shouted ‘a bridge ‘ so we found some lolly sticks and cups we had so much fun building and balancing and getting just the right position,

This included great communication between our children and the teachers, also we worked hard solving problems, learning to work together 😊

Happy Friday guys ☺️
Here in Preschool we have had a busy morning, so we have set up a little snack shop full of delicious fruit 🍌 🍎🍐 before our children went shopping, we discussed where they thought fruit grew, 🌴🎋
We gave our children had some money and off we went shopping 🛒
Our children had to join a queue and wait our turn, when we got to the cashier we had to use our conversation skills to ask for what we wanted to buy,
Some of our children were a little shy at first but with a little encouragement we got there,

We used our knowledge and understanding of the world,

Keeping cool on this beautiful sunny day ☀️
Playing catch with balloons filled with water 💦
Our children had so much fun throwing and catching them until they went POP and of course we had fun splashing in the pool 🏊‍♂️

Today at nursery everyone has been outside enjoying the sunshine!☀️☀️
The children in The Hummingbird Room have been busy with plenty of outside activities, but they’ve been most excited about all the water play we’ve got going on today💧💧
This has been a great way to ensure the children stay at a nice cool temperature during this hot weather🧊☀️
After lots of play, the children enjoyed their snack in the shade with plenty to drink🥛🧃

Parent Notice ⚠️

As we are expecting lots of sunshine next week please can we politely remind all parents/carers to pack your child's bag with sun cream, a sun hat, a water bottle and weather appropriate clothing which covers the shoulders including some spares.

We will be having lots of water play out in the garden so if you would like to pack a swimsuit/swim nappies and a towel it would be greatly appreciated. ☀️
