It’s that time of the year again!
Our annual PUMPKIN PARADE on Thursday the 20th of October!!

This year we would love the whole community to get involved with us, so we are placing painted pumpkin stones around the village of Saxilby for you to find! If you are lucky enough to find one, return it to us at Fleur de Lys Nursery and we will give you a little treat.

We would really appreciate it this year, if instead of sponsorship money you would kindly make a food donation for the Lincoln Food Bank. They are in particular need of tinned meat, fruit and pasta sauces. We will put a box by the front door of the nursery every week day until Thursday 4th November 🍬

⚠️ To all our families and Saxilby residents 😊

We are looking forward to our annual Pumpkin Parade 2021 🎃.. its our 5th year!! The weather is perfect 😌

Come and see our children walking the village of Saxilby to raise money for Action for Children, please give us a wave and a donation as we walk past, to help us reach our target of £500 !! 🎃 👻

Keep an eye out for us as we leave nursery at 10am !🕑

Our route will take us past Co-op, round to Sykes Lane, past the village hall, along the High Street and cutting back through the Pavilion and round to Highfield Road.

We can't wait to see you all!! Come help us reach our £500 goal 🙏♥

This afternoon the children at Fleur de Lys have been making their very own gigantic pizza 🍕 The children have used knives to cut real fruit and vegetables, practicing and developing their fine motor skills - helpful in refining their pre-writing skills 📖

We think it looks super scrumptious 🤩😊

We wondered if any families locally might be making/baking or creating over the Bank Holiday weekend!!

The children at Fleur de Lys love going out on adventures around the village, learning some of the history of Saxilby, learning about the variety of vehicles and animals we see and having a run around the pavilion field.
When we leave along Highfield Road towards the pavilion we always stop to say hello to the dog, duck and owl ornaments 🦆🐕🦉

Yesterday we went on an adventure to the canal. We saw lots of canal boats and a train On our walk back via the park and the pavilion we spotted on a bench a beautiful handmade butterfly made by . We have proudly hung it up in our room and the children love watching it spinning round⛵🚂🦋

This morning we have lots of very excited children, we are again this year taking part in THE BIG TODDLE which will see us walking, dancing, skipping, jumping or hopping around the pavilion field from 9:30am.

If anyone within the village sees us out and about please give us a wave and maybe a big ROAR as we have lots of little lions, dinosaurs, giraffes, elephants, monkeys and much more who are making lots of fabulous animal sounds as loud as they can!

We would especially like to thank The Sun Inn for allowing us to use the facilities should any of our children need to use the toilets and for providing water for a big drink when we have finished our big toddle!

If anyone would like to make a donation to this fabulous charity please feel free to drop it off at the nursery, we would love to hit our target of £200!!!

In pod 1 this week, we have taken a trip to the seaside and then the amusements arcade. The children have loved building sandcastles and posting the balls through the holes! 🏖⚾️🐠

We are unbelievably proud to say our reuse and show "thank you figure" has come in at 3rd place in the LAS Schools competition and will therefore be on display at the waterside shopping centre from today, the 14th of June until the 27th of June.

Our inspiration came from every single hero that has helped throughout the covid-19 pandemic from the NHS staff, to delivery personnel, shop workers and of course our fellow Early Years colleagues and everyone in between!

We really hope you pop along to see the wonderful creation our children have made!

We received some lovely feedback from the judges who said "there was lots of learning around your artwork it was wonderful. We liked the original idea which represented some great people/jobs that have helped us. We were impressed with the amount of young people involved and that they had all been a part of it in some way"

I hope you are all as proud of our children as we are! 💙

We have spoken about tadpoles, where they came from and what they grow in to 🐸

Claire has found some frog spawn and we would LOVE to watch them grow in the nursery, so here comes the BIG ASK...If any parents or friends of Fleur have, or know anyone who has a spare fish tank that is just collecting dust we would be ever so grateful if we could have it please?

The learning experience would be lovely for the children..
