These sessions are designed to support children and young people over the summer holidays — whether that’s keeping confidence going, supporting transitions, or maintaining routine and structure.

🌈 A quick introduction ahead of summer sessions opening

At The Sensory Booth, our summer sessions will be delivered by both myself (Zach) and my wife Megan.

Megan is a qualified teacher working full-time in a specialist SEND school, with experience in autism support, Makaton, Attention Autism, phonics, and trauma-informed practice.

Having two practitioners means we can offer more flexibility for families over the summer holidays, depending on what works best for each child.

They can help with things like:

Over the summer holidays, some young people benefit from keeping a little structure, routine, or support in place — especially around big transitions like moving into a new school or Year 7.

We’ll soon be opening bookings for our summer 1:1 sessions, which will run throughout the holidays.

This is just the beginning! Over the coming months, we'll be adding even more resources, including teaching, learning and SEND support materials.

🌈 Meet Megan 🌈

As The Sensory Booth continues to grow, I wanted to take a moment to introduce someone who has been an important part of the journey from the very beginning – my wife, Megan.

Although many of you may not know who Megan is, there's a good chance you've seen her around the cabin during in-person sessions, or benefited from some of the work she does behind the scenes. Megan helps keep everything running smoothly, from preparing and organising the cabin to supporting with family communications and administrative tasks.

Megan works full-time in a specialist SEND school and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs. She is a qualified teacher with experience working with autistic pupils and children with a range of SEND needs.

Her qualifications and training include:

⭐ Specialist Autism Training
⭐ Makaton Levels 1 & 2
⭐ Attention Autism
⭐ Phonics Training
⭐ Trauma-Informed Practice

Most importantly, Megan shares the same values that The Sensory Booth was built upon – building positive relationships, understanding each child's individual needs, and creating safe, supportive environments where children can thrive.

Over the coming months, Megan will begin supporting some of our sessions, both online and in person. We are incredibly excited about this next step and the opportunity for more children and families to benefit from her skills, experience and caring approach.

Yesterday I asked you to guess the new colour of The Sensory Booth cabin.

Well, the wait is over…

💚 It’s GREEN! 💚

Over half term I’ve been busy giving the cabin a refresh, including:

✨ A complete repaint inside and out
✨ A deep clean throughout
✨ New outdoor seating areas
✨ Fresh planting and finishing touches
✨ Creating an even calmer, more welcoming space for learners and families

The Sensory Booth has always been about providing a safe, supportive and personalised environment where children and young people can learn, grow and thrive. This refresh helps make the space feel even more inviting.

I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out and can’t wait to welcome learners back through those doors.
