🏉 Year 7 Rugby Debut vs Abbey!

A huge well done to our Year 7 rugby team who played their first fixture of the season against Abbey this week!

We were delighted to have an outstanding turnout of 23 boys, ranging from experienced rugby players to students who were completely new to the sport. Every player represented Sawtry Village Academy with enthusiasm, determination and excellent teamwork throughout the afternoon.

For many of the boys, this was their first experience of school rugby, making it a fantastic starting point for what promises to be an exciting journey for the team. The commitment, effort and willingness to learn on display were brilliant to see, and we are incredibly proud of every student who took part.

This is only the beginning, with more matches coming up over the next few weeks, so if you're interested in giving rugby a try, now is the perfect time to get involved. Whether you're an experienced player or have never picked up a rugby ball before, we'd love to see you at session 6 on Monday! Sign up on Bromcom or just bring your boots and give it a go.

☕💚 Macmillan Coffee Morning 2026 💚☕

Today, we came together to celebrate our Macmillan Coffee Morning, and what a fantastic event it was!

Our students and staff did a brilliant job baking a wonderful selection of cakes and sweet treats for the sale, while lots of students generously volunteered their time to help out. The atmosphere was brilliant, with plenty of delicious treats, lots of smiles and a real sense of community spirit.

A huge thank you to everyone who baked, volunteered, donated and supported the event. We are so grateful for everyone's generosity and support in helping us raise money for such an important cause. 💚

We look forward to sharing the final fundraising total soon!

A massive well done to all of our students who have made it onto the Honours Board after achieving 5 or more Striving and Valuing credits!

It’s brilliant to see so many students being recognised for their hard work, positive choices and commitment to doing their best.

Keep up the fantastic work. Let’s see even more names up there next week!
