A reminder that we will be raising money for Comic Relief on Friday 20th March with lots of fun activities taking place throughout the day. Please bring some spare change if you would like to take part!
Activities include:

🧁 Bake Sale
⚽ Penalty Shootout
🦆 Guess the Name of the Duck
🍬 Guess How Many Sweets Are in the Jar
All money raised will go towards supporting Comic Relief and the amazing work they do.

Please note: This is not an own clothes day. Students should come to school in their normal school uniform.

🎨 Sawtry Art Students Shine at the Prestigious ASHYAC Art Competition! 🏆

We are incredibly proud to share that Sawtry art students were among the winners at the highly prestigious ASHYAC Art Competition, supported by the Arts Society! 🌟

On Saturday 7th March, hundreds of students and family members gathered at the exhibition at St Ivo School to admire the fantastic artwork on display and hear the exciting announcement of the winners and those receiving Highly Commended awards.

Each school was allowed to exhibit a maximum of three pieces of artwork per year group, from Reception right through to Year 13 (Sixth Form), making this a very competitive and impressive exhibition! 🖼️

Match result - Year 7B Team vs Longsands B Team ⚽️

A brilliant effort from the team to win 3-2. 🎉

The lads showed great attacking prowess in the first half, attacking well and being ruthless with their chances, putting the team 3-0 up at the halftime break.

Lots of changes took place at half time, with an entirely new set of players coming out for the second half. They lads defended as a unit, communicated really well and worked hard to ensure that the team held onto the lead to secure a 3-2 win. 💪

🎉 You're Invited to One Leisure Sawtry Opening Weekend! 🎉

Join us on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March as we celebrate the reopening of One Leisure Sawtry and the return of our swimming pool as part of a major investment into the centre.

To celebrate, we’ll be offering FREE bookable activities all weekend – with plenty taking place in the newly reopened pool. It’s the perfect chance to come along, try the facilities, and be part of the celebrations 🤩

🥉 Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Success! 🥉

Congratulations to Olivia F (Year 11 E-MR) and James D (Year 12 O-NF) on achieving their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Through dedication and determination, they have successfully completed the different elements of the programme and should be very proud of their efforts.

A fantastic accomplishment—well done! 👏🌟

On Monday 9th March, Sawtry Village Academy Sixth Form Business students had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Jaguar Land Rover factory in Solihull. 🚗✨

The trip was organised to give students a real-life insight into a modern manufacturing environment. As part of the Business syllabus, students study key concepts such as methods of production, lean production and Kaizen, automation, stock control, quality standards, and sustainability – and this visit brought all of these ideas to life. 📚

The experience delivered far more than expected. It was truly mind-blowing to see the scale and efficiency of production, as well as the professionalism and dedication of the employees working there. The factory itself was vast, with over 700 robots operating in the early stages of the assembly line, before the process moved into the more hands-on section where precision craftsmanship and careful processes take over. 🤖

Students were able to witness the construction of a car from a simple sheet of aluminium through to the completion of the newest Range Rover in the world – all within just 8 hours.

Our SVA students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, represented the school brilliantly, and behaved impeccably throughout. We are incredibly proud of them. 👏
