KEY PERSON VACANCY
Term time role, broadly aligned with Hertfordshire County Council term times.
Five days a week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm.
Please find below a brief outline for the position of Key Person. Applications need to be in by Friday 25th April 2025. Late applicants may be considered. Interviews week commencing 28th April 2025.

Essential criteria
• Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years’ education and child care. Level 2 candidates taken into consideration with relevant experience
• Experience of working in Early Years
• Knowledge of DfE Early Years statutory framework, curriculums and guidance
• Experience of observation, assessments and planning
• Experience of working in a team
• Experience of carrying out risk assessments
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge and experience of upholding confidentiality
• Knowledge and experience of upholding safeguarding
• Must be able to work under pressure, independently or in a team, be pro-active and use initiative
• Must be able to set up and take down the environment, as we are a packaway setting
• Experience of planning play based approaches promoting awe, wonder and curiosity
• Knowledge and experience of equity and equal opportunities
• Experience of working and communicating effectively with young children, families and other professionals
• Must be able to meet children’s needs
• IT proficient
• Willingness to undertake further training
• A sense of humour
• Prepared to be regularly covered in paint, playdough, soil, gloop and other messy stuff!

Desirable criteria
• SEND experience
• Organisational skills
• Current paediatric first aid certificate

Essential information prior to starting
• Current and relevant enhanced DBS and to be signed up for the update service
• Two references
• Right to work in the UK
• Original certificates

Essential criteria
• Must be child focused
• Flexibility to work within the hours of 9.00am and 3.00pm
• Passion for working in Early Years
• Work well in a team
• Follow instruction
• Use your own initiative
• Uphold confidentiality
• Help to provide a safe environment
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of equal opportunities
• To play and have fun at a child’s level
• Good sense of humour and the ability to laugh at jokes that
are not funny and on occasion, have your shoulder used as a
tissue!
Desirable criteria
• Experience of working in an Early Years Setting
• Current enhanced DBS and to be signed up for the update
service
• Paediatric First Aid up to date training

OUR EXCITING NEW KITCHEN!!!!!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Children's Christmas Fayre. We have been able to buy this amazing wooden kitchen for the children for our Teddy Home Corner. Every child is absolutely loving playing with the new kitchen and Team Teddy staff are enjoying lots of cups of tea and yummy breakfasts!! 🐻

🚦🛑✋🏼 ROAD SAFETY WEEK ✋🏼🛑🚦

Last week the children enjoyed taking part in some stop and go games and activities!

We explained to the children that the stop and go colours can mean different things on the traffic lights for driving and walking and to always watch the red and green people once you press the button.

The children now have a good understanding of red to stop and green to go!

🎄🎅🏼 CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS FAYRE 🎅🏼🎄

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Christmas fayre, you helped us raise a huge £1,100.00!

The money will be used to revamp our home corner and to buy some new toys and equipment that will continue to help the children play, learn and grow!
