Creative Tutoring Time 1-to-1 and small group online tutoring of English available across KS2, KS3 and KS4

08/06/2026

I'm already starting to receive enquiries and bookings for September! šŸ“š

If you're interested in 1:1 tuition or small group sessions, please get in touch.

I can add your child to my small group waiting list (Ā£20 per hour), or if your child has friends who would like to learn together, we can create a bespoke small group. This worked brilliantly with my first small group last year, helping students build confidence while benefiting from collaborative learning.

Spaces are limited, so feel free to message me for more information or get your slot secured before September.

Want to keep your child's skills up over the summer? Have they ended this year a little bit behind? One summer I tutored 2 sisters who had spent a month in Romania with their grandparents speaking no English for the month and I supported them in bridging the gap for their confident return to school in September.

Whatever their age (KS1 up to KS4), or need, I can offer online or local Face to face (Bedfordshire/North Hertfordshire) support. Whether it's one off sessions or a small block booking?

Let's talk.

I've had time off from tutoring as I've had my kids but I'm back offering tutoring again this year. What I'm offering is a little different this year.

Tutoring is not cheap and the average rate in my area seems to be £35 to £40ph but so many of my students last year that wanted tutoring just couldn't afford that and it just doesn't seem fair that wealthy affluent students get the extra support.

So, I'm offering 4 GCSE English students an online small group session on a Wednesday 5-6pm for only £25each. If you are interested or know anyone who is get them to send me a message.

Found/blackout poetry can be really fun and creative.

You can use old books and tear out a page (Or photocopy pages if you would rather). Get the children to start off in pencil and circle what they want to keep, get them to copy the poem out first before they start blacking the other words out.

Or

Give them some old magazines and cut out the words they want and stick them down to make a found poem. (if they are too young for scissors and you are working and can't supervise it will involve a bit of therapeutic cutting up of words the night before on your part). Make a tub of cut out words and leave them with the tub and a pritt stick to make some poetry.

This can be done for any age.

Why not try some concrete/visual/ shape poetry?

You can either print them a Shape/template (make sure it's just a hollow outline) and then get them to write lots of words and phrases about that shape, in rough, on a spare piece of paper. Once they're ready they can fill the shape in with their poem, or create the outline of their shape with the words.

Next I'm going to show you how to make Found poetry.
