Don’t forget children who are going to the Bay Primary in September have been invited to a fish and chip lunch tomorrow at big school (they can bring their own lunchbox if they wish)

You will need to drop your child off at the green gates at the Bay Primary at 11.30 and then collect them at 12.30. Staff from preschool will be there to greet them, staff will not be able to walk them to big school or back.

A reminder that our New Intake Meeting is taking place on Thursday 22nd June at 5.30pm.

There will be a presentation and lots of useful information about starting in reception. You will also receive a letter with the details of who will be your child's teacher.

Oh boo! For some reason my post this morning wishing all our leavers a lovely first day at big school failed!

So we hope they did have a fab first day! They are all little stars 🌟 who we just know will shine!

Regarding the Broadway being shut and causing quite a bit of build up of traffic. We would just kindly ask that parents/carers are mindful of collection times and leave plenty of time for collecting as we have staff that must leave Pre-School to collect their own children at 3pm.

What a lovely week we have had for World Book Week! We have had all different kinds of costumes and lots of children bought stories in to share from home. We have even had a couple of puppet shows put on by staff and children!

Don’t forget to check your tapestry accounts for all the lovely photos of what your children have been up to 🤩 I can’t wait to display them in the hall for the children to remember.

What another fabulous day for World Book Week! Lots of lovely costumes and favourite books bought in! The children have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the story sacks and activities. Don’t forget to check their tapestry pages at the end of the week for some wonderful photos!

Tomorrow is the last day of World Book Week 😃 we will enjoy this book a few more times!

We are all loving World Book Week! Tomorrow is officially World Book Day so we would love to see lots of outfits 🤩 or if your child doesn’t feel like dressing up they are welcome to bring a favourite book to share with us!

Jaimie’s Sunshine Room have loved Bob the builder!
Sammi & Niamh’s Caterpillars went on a Bear Hunt today!
Chelsea & Candi’s Butterflies read Room on the Broom and made their own spells and potions!
Tanya and Christa’s Butterflies also enjoyed the Bear Hunt!
And Keira’s Rainbow Room have also joined in with the Gruffalo and that’s not my penguin! 🤩

Wow 🤩 we had some fantastic costumes today for World Book Week!

The children really enjoyed the story sacks and we plan on making some new ones throughout the week with the children 😃

We have received notification this morning that the weather warning for storm Eunice is now red, we will be following the Local Authority's advice and closing the pre-school today.

Due to the predicted high winds tomorrow we are just letting you know that we are currently open but if we are required to make additional changes we will update you in the morning via tapestry and the island echo website.

Don’t forget toddler group is back up and running tomorrow 🙌🏻 9.30am till 11am. £2 per family. Come have some fun 🤩

Please remember face masks must be worn on school grounds and inside the building. We will be taking temperatures on arrival too. Thank you for your co-operation.

Newsletters have started going out to inform families of some changes we have made in regards to drop off and pick up times.

Please could we ask those who have not received a newsletter yet and remind those who have to wait at the top of Pre-School outside the black gates and a member of staff will open them at 9am to let you in. Please do not enter the gates beforehand.

Newsletters will continue to be handed out this week but you can also log on to your child’s tapestry account where you will also be able to view a copy.

Pre-School returns Tuesday 4th of January

Toddler group will be starting again on Tuesday the 11th of January.

We have had another positive case of covid-19 within our preschool community.

Any children that have been in close contact families have been contacted.

If your child is showing signs of covid-19 please follow the government guidelines.

Children in Need this Friday, if your child attends preschool on a Friday they are welcome to come in as fancy dress or yellow and spotty. £1 donations would be appreciated all for children in need. 🐻

We would like to thank Elizabeth for organising our sponsored walk. She collected a grand total of £260 which will be put to good use! We are planning on getting some resources for our front garden for the children to enjoy.

Good morning,

Following new guidance staggered starts and finishes will no longer need to take place so as of Monday times will be as normal. We would like to thank everyone for being so understanding.

Masks will still be in place for staff as we want to try and keep everyone protected as much as we can. Staff wear masks when greeting at the door and speaking with parents/carers. We don’t wear masks within the classrooms as this was the guidance given to us by WHO throughout the pandemic. Staff also test themselves twice a week.

If you would like to speak to us about anything please come and see us at reception where we will always make time for you.

We have noticed a number of parents/careers dropping off and collecting without wearing a mask. Masks must be worn when entering the black gates at the top.

With the cases so high on the Isle of Wight we are doing our best to ensure we are keeping your children safe as well as staff and are able to remain open.

Your children’s teachers will meet them at the door to take them to their classrooms and bring them back to reception at the end of their session.

If you have not completed the school transition sheets that were handed out last week we must have these returned Monday 28th June to be sent on to your child’s school.

If you have lost yours you can log into your tapestry account where a message will be waiting with the documents attached. You can either print, complete and hand in at preschool or complete it on tapestry by leaving a message for us to then transfer to paper. These are really important.

If anyone would like to join on Sunday they are meeting at the sundial cafe next to sandringham hotel at 9.30/9.45 and will be heading off at 10. They have got wight knight joining them and Sandown shanklin lifeboat are meeting us outside their station at about 10.30/10.45 🤩
